  2.    MORAY V2.0                                          4th January 1996

  4.    Finally, here is Moray V2.0. Although it is a lot later than I first 
  5.    anticipated, I'm sure the wait has been worthwhile.
  6.  
  7.    There have been many changes from V1.53, one of which is that I have used 
  8.    a different approach to the documentation. It is now tutorial-based and 
  9.    all MORAY features are explained in an interactive way in tutorials. 
  10.    Following that is a reference section that explains every menu and button 
  11.    in the program. I think this approach is easier for the first-time user 
  12.    and for the experienced user who just wants to look up something.
  13.    
  14.    This Archive contains the following files:

  17.      MORAY.DOC    - The V2.0 Manual, Tutorials and Reference
  18.      MORAY.EXE    - The actual V2.0 executable
  19.      REGISTER.TXT - Registration instructions
  20.      REGISTER.FRM - Registration form
  21.      SUPPORT.TXT  - Instructions on how to reach us and get support
  22.      MORAY.INI    - The configuration file (see MORAY.DOC)
  23.      MORAY.MNU    - The menu file.
  24.      MRYDEFLT.COL - The default color definition file
  25.      MRYTXTR.LST  - The texture list MORAY should know about
  26.      MRYPOV.INC   - The default include file for POV-Ray scene files.
  27.      MRYPOLY.INC  - The default include file for Polyray scene files.
  28.      MRYTXTR.MDL  - The MDL file containing predefined textures.
  29.      CALLMRAY.BAT - A batch file for an external Model/Render loop
  30.      FILE_ID.DIZ  - A BBS description of Moray V2.0.
  31.      SYSxxxxy.FNT - System Fonts for various resolutions
  32.      MDL/*.MDL    - Various scene files
  33.      POVSCN/      - The default scene directory for POV files.
  34.      POLYSCN/     - The default scene directory for PI files.
  35.      MDL/         - The default scene directory for MDL files.
  36.      UDO/         - The default directory for UDO files.
  37.      UTILS/       - This directory contains two useful utilities and a VESA
  38.                     testing and (MORAY relevant) benchmarking program.
  39.      RAW/         - The default directory for RAW files.
  40.      MAPS/        - The default directory for imagemaps and bumpmaps.

  43.    To install, just copy the ZIP to your harddisk in a directory like \MORAY
  44.    and unzip with the -d option (creating subdirectories).

  46.    If you are updating from V1.5, it is suggested that you install to a new
  47.    directory. Also, you may want to read the 'New Features in V2.0' section of
  48.    the manual (page 96) and do the first tutorial which explains the new
  49.    interface.

  51.    After unzipping the files, please take a moment to read the Installation
  52.    section of the Manual (page 11). Of interest is also the Configuration
  53.    section (page 101).

  55.    In order to get the highest speed out of you system, please read Section
  56.    7.4 (page 109) of the manual and try installing UniVBE V5.1 or higher on 
  57.    your system. I have attained a 20- to 40-fold (yes -FOLD!) speed increase
  58.    on my system after installing UniVBE V5.1. See the file VESATST.TXT in the 
  59.    UTILS directory for details on the included VESA Test and Benchmark program.
