This disc contains MIDI files for hundreds of recorded performances of a wide variety of compositions compiled from the "MIDI Connection" section of NAUTILUS, the CD ROM-based information service.
Use of these files requires a basic computer/MIDI instrument set-up including the appropriate interface and software.
All of the MIDI information on this disc has been recorded in 2 formats: MasterTracks™/Pro4™ (Passport Designs) format and in "Standard MIDI," so that your particular software can either use the the MasterTracks format directly or import the standard MIDI files and convert them.
In addition to MIDI files, this CD ROM contains digitally recorded audio performances as "auditions" of each file. These 11kHz sound files were created using the types of voices specified by each file.
The "MIDI Index" application located on the disc desktop is an interactive listing and "locator" front-end for the MIDI files and audio samples. There is also a document named "MIDI Index.text" which is listing of all of the files and folders on the disk in text form.
The "Best of MIDI Connection" Volume 1 is an annual release from NAUTILUS. NAUTILUS is an evolving CD ROM-based information service, regularly published in a multimedia magazine format in both Macintosh® and Windows™ with MPC Extensions™ versions.
