Shortcut is a replacement for the shadow class in the OS/2 Workplace Shell. Renaming the shadow of an object also renames the original object, so shadows can't have different names than their originals. If you install Shortcut and you rename the shadow of an object, only the name of the shadow is changed, not the original.
This is useful, when an object has to have a special name, but you want to have the shadow a different, better understandable name, for example:
- Create a shadow for your CONFIG.SYS and rename the shadow to "OS/2 Configuration file"
- Create a shadow for your FAXWORKS/DATA directory and rename it to "My Faxes" etc.
Installation:
1. Copy the shortcut.dll file to a directory in your libpath (e.g. c:\os2\dll)
2. Run install.exe
3. Reboot
Deinstallation:
1. Run uninst.exe
2. Reboot
3. Delete shortcut.dll
This Program is Freeware, there is no support for it and no guarantee that it works on your system. It was programmed and tested on Warp 4, Fixpak 3, but should also work on other versions.
