--------------------
-- Introduction --
This is a small text-mode application designed to randomly change the desktop
background at increments chosen by the user. I first thought of writing a
program like his back in December of '94. Not being one to use screen savers
(My screen saver is the power switch on the monitor), I decided I'd like the
background of my desktop to change every now and then. Well, a few weeks ago, I
got tired of manually changing it every so often, so decided to go ahead and
write RndBgnd.
RndBgnd is in it's VERY early stages of development. I've decided to release
it now to see what y'all thought of the idea.
-- Using RndBgnd --
To use RndBgnd, I suggest the following:
- Place RndBgnd.exe in any directory you like.
- Make a program object, Pointing the Path and file name to RndBgnd.
- Set the Parameters to the duration (in seconds) you'd like between changes
(the default is 30 seconds).
- Set the Session settings to OS/2 Window, Start Minimized.
- Place the program object in the startup folder.
-- Limitations --
- Right now, RndBgnd will only use the \os2\bitmap directory, and for some
reason it will only do tiled images (in fact, if you have any other setting,
it will change it to tiled).
- The system slows down (in fact, you get the wait-clock) during the bitmap
change. I believe this is the fault of OS/2, so there may be nothing I can
do about it.
- Limited to only 30 files right now, I'll change this in the future.
-- "Wish List" --
In future versions, I'd like to implement the following:
- Ability to use other directories. (possibly even multiple directories?).
- Ability to set whether an individual bitmap is to be tiled, normal or
scaled.
- Easy user interface.
-------------------------
I'm open to any and all suggestions, in fact, that's the main reason for
releasing the program in it's current state. Please send any and all
comments, suggestions, flames and what-naught to me at:

Oh yeah, the most important item... This program is FREE! Feel free to pass
it on to friends, relatives (enemies, if you don't like it). upload it wherever
and whenever, without any restrictions, just remember the disclaimer above.
