  45.  The PC/2 package (consisting of the OS/2 PM application PC/2 and the WPS 
  46.  program Object WPS 2 PC/2) is classified as Freeware. Under the copyright, you 
  47.  are allowed and encouraged to freely use, distribute or modify this program 
  48.  under the following conditions:

  50.      The complete source code and all executables must be included. This rule 
  51.       also applies for any modifications/recompilations you've made. Just drop 
  52.       me a short note describing the changes. 
  53.      You may only charge for the costs of duplicating. Distribution on 
  54.       InterNet, FidoNet or similar is preferred. Therefore, this program must 
  55.       not be sold by immoral "Public Domain & ShareWare" dealers that charge a 
  56.       price way over the actual duplication costs. 
  57.      Any commercial use is prohibited without contacting me beforehand, except 
  58.       for incorporating the concept or code in any future release of OS/2 by 
  59.       IBM.  This however this clause doesn't apply to individual private use.

  72.  writing this utility, you are welcome to send me a small donation of about 50 
  73.  to 150 Austrian Schillings (about 5 to 15 dollars) to my home address. I'm

  75.  fill in the <PC/2 Survey>. At least I would ask you to do your best to 
  76.  convince, as many as possible, Windows users and vendors to support OS/2. Of

  120. PC/2 is a WPS program that can be used as an interface between the Workplace 
  121. Shell and PC/2. Because information about WPS Objects is not available for 
  122. programs not running in the WPS's address space, PC/2 was developed: 
  123.  
  124.      to run within the WPS's address space to be able to access detailed 
  125.       information about WPS Objects 
  126.      to exchange the extracted detailed information with PC/2 by using Drag'n 
  127.       Drop 
  128.      to use the information extracted from the WPS by creating menuitems for 
  129.       PC/2's Popup Menu 
  130.  
  131.  To extract information from the WPS for use within PC/2, just drag any WPS 
  132.  Object or Objects onto the icon of the WPS 2 PC/2 Object on your Desktop. 
  133.  Alternatively, you can also drop the WPS Objects onto the client area of the 
  134.  WPS 2 PC/2 window, e.g. the suitcase will work. PC/2 will immediately extract 
  135.  detailed information about the WPS Objects dropped. PC/2 allows you to extract 
  136.  WPS Objects of classes WPProgram, WPFolder, any other WPS Object that has an 
  137.  Object ID defined, or WPShadow Objects of the previously mentioned classes. If 
  138.  the WPS Object is of classes WPProgram or WPFolder and has an Object ID 
  139.  defined additionally, the Object ID will be ignored, because using the Object 
  140.  ID requires the WPS running to launch them, when selecting them from PC/2's 
  141.  Popup Menu. 
  142.  
  143.  You can then create Menuitems for PC/2's Popup Menu by dragging from the 
  144.  Status bitmap from WPS 2 PC/2's window to the Setup dialog of PC/2. 
  145.  
  146.  This allows you to use the same settings of your WPS Objects within PC/2's 
  147.  Popup Menu without entering them twice. Imagine your favorite application 
  148.  installs a folder containing programs with complicated settings onto the WPS. 
  149.  To use your favorite application within PC/2's Popup Menu too, just extract 
  150.  its folder by dragging it onto WPS 2 PC/2's icon, and then drag the extracted 
  151.  data from WPS 2 PC/2's window to PC/2's Setup dialog. Voila - your favorite 
  152.  application is available from PC/2 too, its that easy! 
  153.  
  154.  When importing the parameters of WPS Objects, PC/2 does remove parameters 
  155.  which make only sense withing the WPS (due to the WPS's object oriented design 
  156.  which does not apply to PC/2's Popup Menu). These parameters in detail are: %, 
  157.  %*, %**P, %**D, %**N, %**F and  %**F, however [...], to query commandline 
  158.  parameters at run-time, will be migrated. You can find more information about 
  159.  the WPS specific parameters in the context help for Parameters of WPS Objects, 
  160.  just open a WPS Object, position the input focus at the Parameters entryfield 
  161.  and press F1 to display the context help.

  163.  (PC/2's icon) For more information about PC/2 just start PC/2 and either 
  164.              select Help or press F1. PC/2 and PC/2 are both installed by 
  165.              PC/2's installation program. You can rerun the installation, if 
  166.              PC/2 is missing.

  173. The PC/2 window is the window of the PC/2 WPS Object that reflects the status 
  174. of extracting detailed information about WPS Objects for use within PC/2.

  176. This window consists of the following parts:

  180.  WPS Objects extracted This listbox contains the title of all WPS Objects that 
  181.              have been extracted by dragging them onto the icon of PC/2 up to 
  182.              now. If this listbox is empty, you haven't dropped any WPS Objects 
  183.              yet.

  187.              (Status empty)   If the Empty "Suitcase" Status bitmap is 
  188.                               displayed, you haven't dropped any WPS Objects 
  189.                               onto the icon or the window's client area of WPS 
  190.                               2 PC/2 yet. You may also notice that this bitmap 
  191.                               always corresponds to an empty WPS Objects 
  192.                               extracted listbox.

  196.                               If the filled status bitmap is displayed, you've 
  197.                               already dropped at least one WPS Object onto the 
  198.                               icon or the window's client area of WPS 2 PC/2. 
  199.                               You may also notice that this bitmap always 
  200.                               corresponds to at least one entry in the WPS 
  201.                               Objects extracted listbox.

  203.                               Only when the suitcase filled status appears, you 
  204.                               can drag the extracted information into PC/2's 
  205.                               Setup dialog. Move the pointer onto this bitmap 
  206.                               and just drag the bitmap onto the listbox of 
  207.                               PC/2's setup dialog. Immediately after dropping 
  208.                               the bitmap, the information extracted from the 
  209.                               WPS Objects is converted to Popup Menu menuitems 
  210.                               by PC/2.

  212.                               After successfully finishing the Drag'n Drop 
  213.                               operation, WPS 2 PC/2 clears itself, being ready 
  214.                               to extract further WPS Objects. 
  215.  
  216.  Clear       By selecting this button, PC/2 clears itself, being ready to 
  217.              extract WPS Objects. You may use this button, if you have 
  218.              extracted one or more WPS Objects by mistake.

  220.  Help        Press the Help button to display the help page you are currently 
  221.              reading.
