  7. ============
  8. Sound Scheme Manager is a program to manage the Sound Schemes found in OS/2
  9. Warp 4.0.This program can perform the following functions.

  11. 1. Create new Sound Schemes
  12. 2. Edit existing Sound Schemes
  13. 3. Test play sound files for use in Sound Schemes
  14. 4. Delete Sound Schemes
  15.  
  16. This program was written by David J. van Enckevort and is released as Freeware
  17. under the following conditions:
  18. 1. The copyright on this program remains the property of the author, David J.
  19.    van Enckevort.
  20. 2. This program is distributed 'as is'.  No warranty of any kind is expressed
  21.    or implied.  You may use it at your own risk.  The author will not be liable
  22.    for data loss, loss of profits or any other kind of loss caused by the use
  23.    of, or inability to use this program.

  36. Installation
  37. ============
  38. Installation of this program is very easy, just copy the three files to a
  39. directory and make a program object for SSM.EXE on your desktop. NO editing of
  40. the CONFIG.SYS is necessary. As long as you keep the three files together the
  41. program will find the necessary files. If you really want you can move the file
  42. HELP.HLP to a directory in the SET HELP= statement in your CONFIG.SYS. If you
  43. want to be able to access the help file without starting the program you can do
  44. so by creating a program object with viewhelp.exe as program, help.hlp as
  45. parameter and the path of the help.hlp file as working directory.

  47. How to use the program
  48. ======================
  49. This program is, I hope, very easy in it use. It consists of one main window
  50. and gives when necessary popup windows. Important to know is that you have to
  51. select a Sound Scheme before start editing actions.
  52. All pushbuttons, entryfields and lists have a helpline at the bottom of the
  53. window and context sensitive help that can be accessed by pressing F1. If you
  54. have questions about how to use this program I would like to refer to the
  55. online, context sensitive help.

  57. Bugs & Limitations
  58. ==================
  59. This is the initial release of this program. This program was written in on
  60. day, and released the next day. The core function, however where copied from
  61. another REXX program that I wrote before, and are well tested. The program is
  62. not tested with other versions of OS/2 Warp 4.0 than the International English
  63. version. It might, or might not work with other versions. At the moment I am
  64. aware of the following bugs and limitations.

  66. 1. No checking is done on the files, it is possible to select files that aren't
  67.    WAVAudio files.
  68. 2. There is no possibility to select no sound for an action.
  69. 3. You can't type the filename in the sound entryfield.
  70. 4. When you change from an edited, but not saved Sound Scheme to another scheme
  71.    the Sound Scheme list will not be updated.
  72. 5. You can delete all Sound Schemes.
  73. 6. You can save a new Sound Scheme without a sound assigned to each action.
  74. 7. When you create a new Sound Scheme, to each action ERROR: will be assigned.
  75. 8. When selecting a sound after your first selection the file dialog doesn't
  76.    open in the previously selected directory.
