  4. To install IniMaint, place the diskette in any drive and double click on the
  5. Install.EXE file and the following will happen:
  6.  
  7. 1. A set of instructions will appear. Please read these and click on OK.
  8.  
  9. 2. The Defaults Dialog will appear. Please insure that all of the Path 
  10. information is correct. The From and To Directories can be the same, however 
  11. that is very unlikely in this situation, since you will be installing from a 
  12. diskette. The Tools Folder Location can either be an ObjectID, as is the 
  13. Default, or the actual name of a Folder in which you wan the Tools Folder 
  14. installed. On my Desktop, I have them in the IniMaint Folder, so I change 
  15. this entry to C:\DESKTOP\INIMAINT, which is the actual name of the IniMaint 
  16. Folder Directory. If you do not want the ICO and other unnecessary files 
  17. automatically erased at the end of the Install, then uncheck the Erase 
  18. Unneeded Files Checkbox. You should leave the Unzip Install Files Checked, 
  19. since the files on the diskette are zipped.

  21. 3. The Initialization is now finished and you should select either an entry 
  22. from the Install Menu, if you are installing for the first time or are 
  23. upgrading, or from the Setup Menu if you simply want the Tools Folder to be 
  24. created.

  26. 4. You should not be able to open the Tools Folder and use all of the 
  27. appropriate tools.

  29. 5. If you need to register your version before the Tools will work. Click on 
  30. the Icon for IniMaint, SysMaint or MultiMaint, depending on which product you 
  31. installed and use the Action Menu to register your version.

  33. There are a number of documentation files included with IniMaint. The
  34. only one that is needed to run IniMaint is the IniMaint.TXT file.
  35. This file describes IniMaint. The other files are supplemental
  36. information as follows:

  38. 1. INICHNGE.TXT is a list of all changes since the first Beta release.
  39.  
  40. 2. INIGROUP.TXT discusses the IniMaint concept of Groups and how to use
  41.    them.
  42.  
  43. 3. INIFILE.TXT discusses INI Files, in general and the User and System INI
  44.    files specifically.
  45.  
  46. 4. INIREPAR.TXT discusses the various Repair functions that are
  47.    available as part of the Recover Menu.
  48.  
  49. 5. WHATISEA.TXT discusses OS/2 File Extended Attributes.
  50.  
  51. 6. INIHELP.TXT is the full help file as a text file with the special
  52.    characters and hypertext cross references removed.
  53.  
  54. 7. DESKTOP.TXT discusses how Desktops get corrupted and what the user can do 
  55.    to protect themselves.
