CHGBOOT.EXE LAN Server 4.0 Productivity Aids Program
This program, CHGBOOT.EXE, can be used to selectively boot an alternate

CHGBOOT.DOC - This README document.
USING CHGBOOT
=============
CHGBOOT can be used on an OS/2 remote IPL machine to select an alternate
operating system which will be used to boot the system on the next boot of
the remote IPL machine. After the next reboot, the remote IPL machine will
resume using the primary operating system. The remote IPL machine must
have the Requester service started and must be logged on to the network.
The CHGBOOT program can be started from any OS/2 command prompt or a
program icon may be created on the remote IPL machine to start the program.
Your network administrator is responsible for creating the alternate remote
IPL machine definition on the remote IPL server. The network administrator
should use the LAN Server Administration graphical user interface to define
your remote IPL machine as both an OS/2 remote IPL machine and a DOS remote
IPL machine.
The CHGBOOT files should be copied into a directory that is in the
\\rpl_server\RPLFILES share directory tree so that the OS/2 remote IPL
machines will have access to the files. If you are not certain where the
RPLFILES share is located on your remote IPL server, you can use the
NET SHARE command on the remote IPL server to determine the location of
the share. The recommended target directory for CHGBOOT.EXE is
d:\IBMLAN\RPL\IBMLAN\NETPROG. The recommended target directory for
CHGBOOT.HLP is d:\IBMLAN\RPL\IBMLAN\HELP. The drive letter (d:) is
the remote IPL server drive letter where the IBMLAN\RPL directory tree was
installed. This file, CHGBOOT.DOC is not required and does not need to be
copied into the \\rpl_server\RPLFILES share directory tree.
Once the CHGBOOT program is started on a remote IPL machine, a HELP button is
available to help you use the program.
End of CHGBOOT.DOC.
