  12. INTRODUCTION

  15. Lots of programs for PCs use the internal speaker to play sound.
  16. Occasionally, one of these programs will have an error and will
  17. quit execution while leaving an annoying tone playing on the 
  18. speaker.  These programs will stop any current sounds by resetting
  19. all speaker-related chips to their power-on values.  The NoSound
  20. programs will NOT prevent other programs from starting new sounds.

  25. NOSOUND.EXE       Version 1.10 for DOS
  26.         Turns off internal speaker under DOS;
  27.         also works under DOS box of OS/2.
  28. NOSOUND2.EXE      Version 1.00 for OS/2
  29.         Turns off internal speaker under OS/2;
  30.         runs in either window or full-screen session.

  35. To run each program, type the filename (omitting the extension) at the
  36. command prompt.  There are no command-line switches.

  42.     I have also written a general-purpose digitized sound player that
  43.     runs on all PCs.  If you are interested in a complete package of
  44.     sound programs, write for more information.

  46.     If you find any case where these programs do not work correctly,
  47.     please tell me.  Supply all details of the situation, and I shall
  48.     try to fix the problem.
