ICPAUSA is an OS/2 PM-based application for configuring Personal
Systems hardware and software.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
IF YOU DO NOT USE INSTCN32 TO INSTALL THE 32-BIT CODE, YOU MUST
CHANGE THE SETTINGS ON YOUR DESKTOP ICON SO THAT THE PROGRAM IS NOW
POINTING TO ICPA32.EXE AND NOT PRCP01.EXE
YOUR SAVED CONFIGURATIONS (*.CFF) FROM THE 16-BIT VERSION WILL NOT
WORK WITH THE 32-BIT VERSION AND VICE VERSA.
YOU CAN NOW SPECIFY THE LOCATION FOR SAVED CONFIGURATIONS AND THE SAVED
SETTINGS FILE (ICPA.PRM) USING THE FOLLOWING IN THE PARAMETER FIELD OF THE
DESKTOP SETTINGS:
Parameters: -a C:\
WHERE -a WILL SAVE A TEXT FILE WITH THE EXTENSION *.CF2 WHENEVER YOU SAVE A
CONFIGURATION AS A CONFIGURATION OR TEXT.
***********************************************************************
NOTE: The -a setup in the parameter field is NOW THE DEFAULT setup if
you use INSTCN32 to install/update ICPAUSA. This was done to support
the 195/295 products fully. The CF2 output now must be "verified" by
a new program, AASVER.CMD. This new program will check the CF2 file
and reorganize it so that it can be FAXed to TCS for ordering. After
doing your 1/295 configuration and saving the file via the "File"
"Save As" options, Execute the AASVER program by double clicking on
the AASVER icon. AASVER will then prompt you for the file name you
saved your configuration as. Remember to add the .CF2 with the
file name. AASVER will check your configuration agains the ordering
system rules and the prepare a printout for faxing with the main
printout to TCS. If any rules violations are encountered, you will
be presented with an error message(s), that explain what is in error.
You must then go back to ICPAUSA to correct the configuration, re-
save the configuration, and re-run AASVER until you receive no error
messages. Upon successful checking, AASVER will ask you what printer
port (LPT1, LPT2, etc) you wish to print the report to.
***********************************************************************
C:\, WILL SAVE THE ICPA.PRM AND ALL SAVED FILES TO THE DISK/PATH. THE
C:\ IS ONLY AN EXAMPLE. IT COULD BE E:\MYCNFGS OR WHEREVER YOU WANT.
THIS WILL BE HELPFUL FOR LAN PUBLIC APPLICATION SETUPS.
**********************************************************************
* When you want to use the discount pricing to add to a given price; *
* USE A NEGATIVE (-) PERCENTAGE (I.E. -10%) *
**********************************************************************
This package contains the files ICPAUSA1, ICPAUSA2 ICPAUSA3, ICPAUSA4,
ICPAUSA5, ICPAUSA6, and ICPAUSA7 EXEBIN which are PKZIP self-extracting files.
***********************************************************************
*
NOTICE: ONLY ICPAUSA1 THROUGH 3 ARE REQUIRED FOR PROPER OPERATION *
OF THE CONFIGURATOR. ICPAUSA4, 5, 6, AND 7 ARE OPTIONAL *
*
***********************************************************************
To install, make a subdirectory for these files (ICPA). Copy ICPAUSA1.EXE
and ICPAUSA2.EXE and ICPAUSA3.EXE (and optionally the other ICPAUSAx files)
into this new subdirectory.
If this is the initial installation then execute ICPAUSA1. When this file
is done unpacking then execute ICPAUSA2, and ICPAUSA3.
If this is an update to an already installed version then execute:
ICPAUSA1 -n -o Then execute ICPAUSA2.EXE. ICPAUSA2 -n -o
This will unpack only the files that have changed and automatically
overwrite any existing files of the same name into the directory.
To create a program entry for OS/2 2.x, drag a program template from the
template folder. Enter the information given above into the settings
notebook that pops up and then close the notebook. Another method to
create the program entry would be to use the Migrate Programs application
tool that can be found in the Systems Setup folder. The Systems Setup
folder can be found in the OS/2 System folder on the OS/2 2.x Desktop.
The above assumes you do NOT use the INSTCN32.CMD REXX file.
