  106. 1 IM and SetupIM have support for the new FAT32 volumes available in Win95
  107.   OEM service release 2.
  108.  
  109. 2 SetupIM has improved disk recognition capabilities this additionally
  110.   allows allows SetupIM to recognize Win95 system sectors correctly without
  111.   booting to native DOS.
  112.  
  113. 3 SetupIM differentiates IBM PC DOS 7 from MS DOS 7 (AKA Win 95) when
  114.   it determines optimal system settings.

  116. 4 IM will set the attribute of any integrity data files created in

  118.   trying to load these files as spread sheets.

  127. 7 IM's documentation files have all been changed to .TXT extensions to
  128.   avoid confusion with MS Word's convention of using .DOC extensions.

  130. 8 If no other command line commands (/Cx or /IX) are present, the /CC or
  131.   /IC (check or initialize CMOS) commands will cause IM to execute and
  132.   quit rather than enter menu mode.

  134. 9 IM's advice relative to resident memory changes (e.g. /CM) has been
  135.   improved. This includes recognition of when the PC has been booted from
  136.   a floppy.
  137.  
  138. 10 The "Check" "Partition sector" and "Initialize" "Partition sector"
  139.    commands now offer the option of checking other than just the
  140.    current disk.  This is intended for situations where the current
  141.    disk is inaccessible by the operating system.  (The reload menu
  142.    has always had this capability.)

  144. Version 3.02a released 7-16-96

  146. 1) Integrity Master can now detect unknown viruses in memory with its
  147.    "Resident program and memory" configuration check.  This allows you
  148.    to detect the presence of unknown viruses without booting from a
  149.    floppy and also provides you a warning if the low-level configuration
  150.    of your PC has changed.  This check is done automatically by
  151.    the "Entire disk integrity" option on the check menu or directly by
  152.    the "/CM" command line switch or the "Resident programs and memory"
  153.    option on the "Check" menu.

  155. 2)  IM offers several new command line options:
  156.  
  157. "/CM"    Check resident programs and memory (allows detection of unknown
  158.          memory resident viruses.  This is equivalent to the "Resident
  159.          programs and Memory" option on the check menu.
  160.  
  161. "/IM"    Record (initialize) data describing resident programs and memory
  162.  
  163. "/MF=xxxx.SRL"  Specifies the file used by check "Resident programs
  164.                 and memory" command.
  165.  
  166. "/MS#"   You can use the command line /MS# option (or SetupIM) to
  167.          vary the sensitivity of IM to resident program configuration
  168.          changes.  The sensitivity can be set from 0 to 9. 0 turns
  169.          the check off, and 9 provides maximum sensitivity to
  170.          changes.  /MS4 is the default (and recommended) setting. /MS9 is
  171.          useful for for researchers and on systems where there should
  172.          be no software changes at all.
  173.  
  174. 3) IM identifies over 700 new viruses by name and characteristic
  175.    including: 4Seasons, Alfons, Angry, Antarex, AntiDivina, AntiDMV, AOS

  208.    detailed information for system sector changes and avoids reporting
  209.    changes when Win95 changes the serial number in floppy boot sectors.

  213. 4) The ReLoad menu has a new option titled, "Partition Boot code" and
  214.    there is a new associated command line switch: "/RE". This will check
  215.    the partition table and replace the executable code in the partition
  216.    sector (AKA Master Boot Record) with a clean self-checking program.
  217.    This can be used to remove boot sector viruses from your hard disk
  218.    when IM has no reload data.  This code is compatible with DOS 2.1 or
  219.    later, OS/2, Win 95, Win NT and other operating systems.

  221. 5) The ReLoad menu has a new option titled, "Floppy Boot Sector" and
  222.    there is a new associated command line switch: "/RF". This will check
  223.    the disk parameters and replace the executable code in the boot
  224.    sector with a clean self-checking program and can correct the disk
  225.    parameters (diskette type, size, # of tracks, etc.) if needed. This
  226.    can be used to remove boot sector viruses from floppy diskettes when
  227.    IM has no reload data.
  228.  
  229. 6) The option "Ignore Time/date changes ──────> on/OFF" is now set to
  230.    "on" in most cases and its function has been improved. IM will now
  231.    check for date or time changes even if this options is set to "ON"
  232.    but it will not display the change if the only change to the file
  233.    is its date or time stamp.

  235. 7) The Windows configuration is corrected for Win 95 (in some cases the
  236.    IM Windows setup program (IMWIN.EXE) would install the wrong command
  237.    line switches.)

  241.    unattended checking.

  367. 1) IM supports a new option to allow rapid screening of diskettes for boot
  368.    viruses.  This is available through the Check menu as well as the
  369.    "/VB" command line switch.  This also allows IM to read boot sectors
  370.    on diskettes that are unreadable to DOS.  Researchers can use this
  371.    option when testing IM since IM will also check the boot sector for
  372.    partition sector (MBR) viruses.
  373.  
  374. 2) New "Force update" option on the "Integrity update" options submenu.
  375.    Selecting this option or using the new "/UA" command line switch will
  376.    force integrity master to update integrity data for all files.  Normally
  377.    IM will not update integrity data for what appear to be corrupted files
  378.    when it is running unattended.

  380. 3) When run from a diskette, IM will now automatically offer to change to
  381.    change to another disk.

  387.    parameter.  This allows you to use IM with some programs that insist
  388.    on including a wild card with the directory to check.  For example:
  389.    IMSCAND C:\DOS\*.* will scan all files in subdirectory \DOS.

  391. 6) SetupIM changed so it will correctly recognize drive characteristics of
  392.    disks using Symantec's Ncache.
