**It is suggested that you not alter the bar, changing .bmps, scripts or design. The bar works very well but wants to become unstable if you do this. Additionally, OS/2 & LWP want you to click in the right place on the icon...this is somewhere just near the center of the icon. If you de-stabilize the bar, just reinstall it again. Additionally, the scripting for the icons was a bit trickier than I knew how to do without glitches. The icons are meant to insert characters as you type. If you wish to go back in a document and enter a Curly Quote or other character etc, you must place a space before the word you want to insert it near, enter the character with the space in between, then delete the space out.**
Tested with FaxWorks Lite for OS/2 Warp 4 and OS/2 Warp 4, should work with Warp 3 and other versions of Faxworks.
Requires UNZIP program to install. NOT SUPPORTED BY LOTUS.
Contributed by Tink Long.
The Tink4OS2.zip file supplies a number of SmartIcons and scripts folks have
asked about over time. Some I created thinking they would be useful to you.
The bar should work fine for you and I have no reason to believe it should
cause you any problems, however, I can take no responsibility for it.
Icons included will: (refer to bubble help text on icon)
1) Send a file to FaxWorks Lite (tested) and probably pro versions.
(Script can probably be slightly altered for other fax drivers.) For some reason,
OS/2 & LWP don't want to work for a fax print on the first click of this icon or a File|Print to the fax driver. Simply print a blank page to the regular printer using the "Immediate Print Job" icon on this bar, before using the Faxprint icon in a session. It should then work for you. Also note, there must be at least one line of text in the fax document for it to print.
2) Print a file immediately, without stopping at the print dialog box.
3) Print only certain pages of a file quickly, those you choose.
4) Insert left or right curly quotes or the curly apostrophe.
5) Change the page color to an easy view vanilla color.
6) Change the page color back to white for printing (if doc was created in the "default page style") OR if the original "page" style of the page was a color (this discludes anything OTHER than the "default page style" of LWP), back to the color of that page style.
7) Insert the Copyrite, Trademark, or Registered Symbols
8) Insert an empty checkbox or an "x'd" checkbox
9) Hop through a document from beginning to end, seeking (one at a time) and deleting frames. This icon will find the next frame after your cursor, on the same page. If it doesn't find one after the cursor, it will go to the top of the page, and begin working down the document a frame at a time, each time you click the icon. I use this in variation to remove frames from an HTML document (with many repeats, the script could be altered for big jobs).
[By the way, this seek and destroy icon doesn't give you much time to think, so you need to know that you want to delete frames before you start. If you accidentally delete a frame you want to keep, use the Edit|Undo command immediately. When it runs out of frames to delete, it will either just not respond, or it will give you a script error code (click OK). You might want to play with this one before using it. ie. make a number of nothing frames on a number or pages, then click home and try it to see how it functions.]
10) Switch between two different Envelope SmartMasters. You MUST set these up per the envelope instructions below before they will work for you. These icons are useful for those who want a generic envelope and then another more designed one they wish to use. Instead of having to go through headstands to do this, you can click the alternate envelopes, then Create an envelope from it using the Create Envelope icon.
[You can expand the functionality of this concept if you have more than two envelope SmartMasters you want to use. Simply change a few letters of the envchang.lss script to refer to the new envelope SmartMaster, give the new script a new name and make a new icon for the bar connecting it to the new script, placing it on the bar for the future.]
11) Open the Envelope Division (Create|Envelope)
12) Insert the Endash, Emdash, or Lawyers S Symbols

INSTALLATION:
To install this package: Have Word Pro closed, then...
1) Unzip the Tink4OS2.zip file in a dummy directory.
2) Place all .bmp's and .smi's in the WordPro\Icons directory (22 files)
3) Place all .smm's and .lss's in the Word Pro\Scripts directory (19 files)
4) The above will work if you have continued to use the generic Icons and Scripts directory that Lotus gave you by default (File|User Setup|Word Pro Preferences|Locations). Most of you will not have to worry about this. If you have changed these paths for some reason, then you will need to adjust them in the scripts or in the SmartIcon setup (attached script path will need to be altered for the correct path), otherwise you should have no problems just installing per the above.
5) When you open Word Pro, the Tinks.smi should be on screen somewhere,
probably running horizontally and about the 2nd or 3rd row down on the left.
Hunt it up and drag it where you want it. It is set to show Always,
so should be on the SmartIcon menu that pops up when you click the down
arrow, just above the tab (bar button) to the left of most SmartIcon
bars. The bar may install over a bar you currently have showing,
simply drag and drop it elsewhere.
6) For those of you who wish to use the Envelope icons (E1 and E2) the setup is below. Once they are setup, they work like a charm.
7) Once you have finished installation, you can delete any additional files in the dummy directory. Please keep the zip file on hand incase you choose to use the delete.bat files noted at the end of this document. Use them with caution.

That's it! The first time you click an icon on this bar it will
probably take a little longer to run the attached script than it will
the next time you click it. Once LWP digests it's new bar, it's fast. The bar is not perfect in it's scripting. You will find the anomalies as you go, if and when you find them, simply adjust accordingly or do what you would normally do to accomplish your task, bypassing the use of the SmartIcons.
**Complaints or corrections: This bar was designed to help make your life easier, it is not perfect by any means, but quite useful. If you find anything that is particularly irritating to you about the use of the bar, let me know and I will see if I can do a new version of it correcting for the problems, no guarantees however, as creating this type of thing is very time intensive. However, your feedback is welcome. If you do have difficulties, please let me know. If you like it please let me know Tink@compuserve.com
SETTING UP YOUR ENVELOPE ICONS IF YOU WISH TO USE THEM:
The E1 AND E2 SmartIcons WILL NOT be functional until you do the following:
Explanation:
The Envelope 1 (E1) and Envelope 2 (E2) SmartIcons are for the purpose of switching between 2 envelopes which will be available to you when you select Create|Envelope. If you sometimes want a plain envelope and sometimes want a specially designed envelope, this will give you the ability to change the Envelope SmartMaster on the fly. These SmartIcons WILL NOT be functional until you do a touch of setup work and there are a few gotchas*. However, they really are no big deal and these icons once setup are exceedingly useful. Do your best with the instructions and let me know if you need extra help.
*********
If you are unfamiliar with the Envelope used by Word Pro, here is a brief explanation from Lotus technote 130339.txt just for your information if you have not read it.
>>The name of the Word Pro SmartMaster is _LWPENV.MWP. This SmartMaster is
not initially present. When this SmartMaster is not present, Word Pro takes
its cues for envelope styles from the current division, or from the "Body"
division in a multipart document.<<
**********
The scripts behind the SmartIcons that you will be using will change the following created .LWP'S to the _LWPENV.MWP and prepare it for your use *before* you select Create|Envelope. In other words, you will be using your own particular Envelope SmartMasters.
BEFORE BEGINNING: Please look at the File|User Setup|Word Pro Preferences|Location panel to view the path to where your SmartMasters are kept, you will need to be aware of it.
What you will be doing to set this up, once set up, there is no need for further work to use the icons:
First you will make what you consider a plain envelope or what you will call your "normal" envelope, ENVNORM.LWP (this is what you will get when you click the E1 SmartIcon). Next you will make your special envelope ENVCHANG.LWP (this is what you will get when you click the E2 SmartIcon).
STEPS
Step 1
(Do this Step if you have *already* created an _lwpenv.mwp per the 130339.txt file, otherwise go to Step 2):
Step 1, A. If you have already created an _lwpenv.mwp that you want to use for your normal (plain) envelope (E1), then select File|New and open it. Select File|Save As and give it the filename "ENVNORM.LWP" using the "Lotus Word Pro (*.lwp)" File of Type and save it to your SmartMasters directory. Go to Step 3.
Step 1, B. If you wish to use the current _lwpenv.mwp as your special envelope (E2), then select File|New and open it. Select File|Save As and give it the filename "ENVCHANG.LWP" using the "Lotus Word Pro (*.lwp)" File of Type and save it to your SmartMaster directory. Go to Step 2.
Step 2
(This step is for those who *do not* have the _lwpenv.mwp in their SmartMasters directory *AND* for those who do, but want to use it for their plain envelope. This will be Envelope E1)
1) Open a plain document (default.mwp) using File|New.
2) Click Create|Envelope.
3) Placing your mouse pointer over the "Body" division tab, right click to see the drop down menu and select "Delete Division" (this will leave *only* the Envelope division)
4) Modify the appearance and content of the envelope as desired.
GOTCHA* - If you will normally be using the File|User Setup|Word Pro Preferences|Disable option to have the "Return address" placed automatically in your envelopes then *don't* place a return address in the envelope now. If you do, then you will have double return addresses upon selecting Create|Envelope later. If you want to stylize the return address for your plain envelope, do that now, but deselect the "Return address" option before using the Create|Envelope selection.
If you want a graphic in your return address, it is probably best to not use the Return address feature, and instead place it in now, formatting it to look how you want with the graphic.
5) When the envelope is how you want, choose File|Save As.
6) Select "Lotus Word Pro (*.lwp)" in the List files of type list box.
7) Specify the path of your SmartMaster directory and specify the file name as ENVNORM.LWP
8) Choose OK.
Step 3:
(Create the special envelope or what you will use as Envelope E2)
1) With the ENVNORM.LWP document still open
2) Choose File|Save As
3) Select "Lotus Word Pro (*.lwp)" in the List files of type list box.
4) Specify the path of your SmartMaster directory and specify the file name as ENVCHANG.LWP
5) Design your special envelope as you wish it to be.
6) Save your file again as in numbers 2-4 just above of this Step 3 section.
Step 4:
Prior to completing this setup, you must change the path statements for your Envelope Scripts. Parts of the two path statement lines for your Envelope .lss files are reflected below. Open the Envnorm.lss and the Envchang.lss files in Notepad or a text editor and change the denoted (>>> <<<) path statements in order to reflect the path statement to *your* Smasters directory. The script files must then be saved **AS A TEXT FILE** and they will be ready for use.
YOU MUST ALSO REMOVE THE FOLLOWING "STOP" LINE FROM EACH OF THE ENVCHANG.LSS
AND ENVNORM.LSS, or you will get an error code in the script. This has
purposely been set up to keep you from losing documents you are working on
and have not saved in the event you try to use the envelope icons before
setting them up. If you do set up the E1 and E2 icons before use,
THEY WILL NOT WORK.
>>>Stop - remove this "stop" line after setting up your Envelope Icons only.<<<
When the stop line is removed, the envnorm.lss and envchang.lss files will then
look similar to this (only the paths and file names will be different in each):
Sub Main
.ApplicationWindow.Filter.SetLastUsedFilter $LwpFilterTypeText, "Lotus Word Pro"
.OpenDocument "c:\lotus\SMASTERS\WORDPRO\Envchang.lwp", "", "Lotus Word Pro"
.SaveAs "c:\lotus\SMASTERS\WORDPRO\_lwpenv.mwp", "", "Lotus Word Pro", False, True, False
.Close
End Sub
****
SmartIcons E1 and E2 are now usable. Before selecting Create|Envelope, press the SmartIcon of the Envelope you want to use. Then you are ready to select Create|Envelope. This envelope SmartMaster will be used until you click the other Envelope SmartIcon.
Here is another easy GOTCHA* just for your information. When you click on E1 or E2 after and/or during the first uses (depending on if you have already created the _lwpenv.mwp) you will see two dialog boxes as the script works. The first will tell you that the _lwpenv.mwp already exists, and ask if you want to overwrite it. Click "yes" or hit <enter>. The second will ask you about the anonymity of the SmartMasters editor. I click "yes" or hit <enter>, you can click no if you want, however the "Yes" is the default so a quick <enter> <enter> gets the job done right away. ie, to get the job done quickly and get on with creating your envelope, just hit <enter> <enter> and you are on your way without a hitch.

Huge thanks to Paul Blais and Jim Beard without whom I could not have brought this bar to the state it is. They are responsible for helping me get this bar, which was originally created in Windows, working for OS/2. I will take credit for the anomalies of this bar, but Paul and Jim get credit for the parts that work! <G>
