  7.                       === INTRODUCTION on HJ11v2.CMD  ===

  9. HJ11v2.cmd allows you to start SUN's HotJava Browser v1.1 under OS/2 Warp
  10. with IBM's JDK 1.1.1 installed.

  12.                             === INSTALLATION  ===
  13. Simply copy HJ11v2.cmd in the hotjava base directory. This is the directory
  14. with the following sub-directories:
  15.                    /hotjava1.1                                          
  16.                    /sun                                                 
  17.                    /sunw

  19.                                === NOTES ===
  20. At the moment SUN supports the execution of the HotJava Browser 1.1 only under
  21. Solaris and Windows 95/NT. There is no 'native' ZIP-file containing only the
  22. HotJava Browser, which makes the installation under OS/2 a little bit tricky.
  23. In order to solve this problem (don't ask me, why SUN do it this way with a 
  24. pure java program) perform the following steps:
  25.  
  26. 1. Download the Solaris Version of the HotJava Browser 
  27.    (http://java.sun.com/products/)
  28. 2. Download PKZIP for OS/2, if you don't have it. You'll need an utility named
  29.    pkzipfix which is included in this package.

  31. 3. 'Fix' the solaris self extracting archive with pkzipfix. You will get a
  32.     native zip-out file of it (without the unix self-extracting header).
  33. 4. Unzip the zip file (step 3) in the desired target directory for your
  34.    HotJava browser
  35. 5. Copy the HJ11v2.CMD REXX-script in this directory
  36. 6. Finished. Now you can start the REXX script which will start the 
  37.    HotJava browser.
