=== DISCLAIMER ===
I allow you to use and distribute this script (hj11v2.cmd) freely under the
condition that I am in no way responsible for any damage or loss you may suffer.
=== INTRODUCTION on HJ11v2.CMD ===
HJ11v2.cmd allows you to start SUN's HotJava Browser v1.1 under OS/2 Warp
with IBM's JDK 1.1.1 installed.
=== INSTALLATION ===
Simply copy HJ11v2.cmd in the hotjava base directory. This is the directory
with the following sub-directories:
/hotjava1.1
/sun
/sunw
=== NOTES ===
At the moment SUN supports the execution of the HotJava Browser 1.1 only under
Solaris and Windows 95/NT. There is no 'native' ZIP-file containing only the
HotJava Browser, which makes the installation under OS/2 a little bit tricky.
In order to solve this problem (don't ask me, why SUN do it this way with a
pure java program) perform the following steps:
1. Download the Solaris Version of the HotJava Browser
(http://java.sun.com/products/)
2. Download PKZIP for OS/2, if you don't have it. You'll need an utility named
pkzipfix which is included in this package.
(http://www.pkware.com/pkos2250.html)
3. 'Fix' the solaris self extracting archive with pkzipfix. You will get a
native zip-out file of it (without the unix self-extracting header).
4. Unzip the zip file (step 3) in the desired target directory for your
HotJava browser
5. Copy the HJ11v2.CMD REXX-script in this directory
6. Finished. Now you can start the REXX script which will start the
HotJava browser.
