  4. The CopyShop/2 Install program installs the program files into the directory 
  5. you select and, at your option, modifies your CONFIG.SYS file, creates a 
  6. desktop program icon and/or installs the scanner device driver needed for your 
  7. scanner and interface card into the directory you select. 
  8.  
  9. It performs the following steps: 
  10.  
  11.    1. Creates the selected program directory if it doesn't already exist.  If 
  12.       it does exist, asks permission to overwrite files. 
  13.  
  14.    2. Copies the program files into the selected program directory. 
  15.  
  16.    3. If a sacnner device driver driver is to be installed, copies it into the 
  17.       selected driver directory, creating the directory if it doesn't already 
  18.       exist. 
  19.  
  20.    4. If permitted to modify CONFIG.SYS, copies the existing file to 
  21.       CONFIG.CS$, reads the existing CONFIG.SYS into memory where it adds the 
  22.       selected program directory to the end of the PATH and HELP statements, 
  23.       adds BASEDEV=OS2ASPI.DMD /SHARE if a SCSI card is to be used and the 
  24.       BASEDEV statement is not there, removes any current reference to the 
  25.       current drivers, SJII.SYS, SJIX.SYS, or MINI400I.SYS, adds the 
  26.       appropriate DEVICE=....[driver].SYS statement for the selected scanner 
  27.       and card, then saves the modified CONFIG.SYS file.

  29.    5. If permitted to create a desktop icon, creates a standard program folder 
  30.       using the CopyShop/2 icon and the selected program directory.  It writes 
  31.       over any existing folder with the same name, CopyShop/2. 
  32.  
  33.    6. Upon completion of a successful install, reminds you to turn/leave the 
  34.       scanner on and re-boot.

  40. installed and, if so, to enter the drive (and directory, if necessary) where

  66. Use the Install program to field to enter the drive, path and directory where 
  67. the program files are to be located. The program files require less than 2 
  68. megabytes but an additional minimum of 2 megabytes is needed for the temporary 
  69. file that each scan is stored in before being processed.  Temporary files for 
  70. 24-bit color scans at 600 dpi can require 25 megabytes each.

  145. If a scanner device driver is to be installed use the Scanner model listbox to 
  146. select your scanner model and the card it is using.  HP Card refers to the 
  147. switchless card that comes with all recent Hewlett Packard scanners. SCSI Card 
  148. refers to any third-party SCSI adapter card that is being used.

  197. Check the Modify CONFIG.SYS button to allow the program to save your existing 
  198. CONFIG.SYS file as CONFIG.CS$ and then make the following changes to 
  199. CONFIG.SYS:

  201.    1. Add the selected CopyShop directory to the end of the PATH statement

  203.    2. Add the selected CopyShop directory to the end of the HELP statement 
  204.  
  205.    3. If the SCSI card driver is being installed, add BASEDEV=OS2ASPI.DMD 
  206.       /SHARE if it isn't already there.

  208.    4. If any driver is being installed, remove any references to the new 
  209.       drivers and/or SJII.SYS, SJIIX.SYS, MINI400I.SYS.

  211.    5. If any driver is being installed, add DEVICE=.....\[driver name].SYS with 
  212.       the selected driver directory and the appropriate driver for the selected 
  213.       scanner and card.
