ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Introduction ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The CopyShop/2 Install program installs the program files into the directory
you select and, at your option, modifies your CONFIG.SYS file, creates a
desktop program icon and/or installs the scanner device driver needed for your
scanner and interface card into the directory you select.
It performs the following steps:
1. Creates the selected program directory if it doesn't already exist. If
it does exist, asks permission to overwrite files.
2. Copies the program files into the selected program directory.
3. If a sacnner device driver driver is to be installed, copies it into the
selected driver directory, creating the directory if it doesn't already
exist.
4. If permitted to modify CONFIG.SYS, copies the existing file to
CONFIG.CS$, reads the existing CONFIG.SYS into memory where it adds the
selected program directory to the end of the PATH and HELP statements,
adds BASEDEV=OS2ASPI.DMD /SHARE if a SCSI card is to be used and the
BASEDEV statement is not there, removes any current reference to the
current drivers, SJII.SYS, SJIX.SYS, or MINI400I.SYS, adds the
appropriate DEVICE=....[driver].SYS statement for the selected scanner
and card, then saves the modified CONFIG.SYS file.
5. If permitted to create a desktop icon, creates a standard program folder
using the CopyShop/2 icon and the selected program directory. It writes
over any existing folder with the same name, CopyShop/2.
6. Upon completion of a successful install, reminds you to turn/leave the
scanner on and re-boot.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Program source ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use Install program from to indicate whether you want the program files to be
installed and, if so, to enter the drive (and directory, if necessary) where
the installation diskette or files are located. If installing from diskette
you will probably use drive A or drive B.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Program destination ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the Install program to field to enter the drive, path and directory where
the program files are to be located. The program files require less than 2
megabytes but an additional minimum of 2 megabytes is needed for the temporary
file that each scan is stored in before being processed. Temporary files for
24-bit color scans at 600 dpi can require 25 megabytes each.
