  11. DESCRIPTION
  12.  
  13. When trying to start any WIN-OS/2 session, the session ends before it 
  14. starts. If started from an icon, it hatches then unhatches. If started 
  15. from a command line, the message "Loading Please Wait..." appears, and 
  16. then the command prompt reappears.
  17.  
  18. If starting a WIN-OS/2 session from a command line with a /B switch, 
  19. the BOOTLOG.TXT file shows LOADSTART=MOUSE.DRV as the last statement in 
  20. the file.

  22. RESOLUTION
  23.  
  24. Edit the MOUSE.INI file in the \OS2\MDOS\WINOS2 subdirectory and make 
  25. sure the MOUSETYPE= statement specifies the mouse installed on the 
  26. system. The statement should read:
  27.  
  28.    MOUSETYPE=PS2 for a PS/2 mouse.
  29.  
  30.    MOUSETYPE=SERIALx, where x is the port being used by the mouse.

  32. When running in DOS/WINDOWS, the system queries the hardware attached 
  33. and updates the MOUSE.INI file. This does not happen in OS/2.

  35. An APAR has been opened for the problem.
