08/27/96
======================================================================
Access Violation Using DSPINSTL.EXE to Install ATI Mach 32 or Mach 64
Driver
======================================================================
Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures
--------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION
DSPINSTL.EXE or the Display Driver Install icon reports "A program
encountered an access violation at 0002:0000c07A" when used to install
an updated video driver from ATI for their Mach 32 or Mach 64 video
controller.
RESOLUTION
If the updated drivers were obtained from ATI, contact ATI Technologies
Technical Support at (905) 882-2626 for their installation instructions.
Note: If the updated video drivers were downloaded from an IBM site,
make sure that SETUP.CMD was run from the updated driver diskette.
This command file replaces DSPINSTL.EXE on the system and should
circumvent the problem.
