  12. DESCRIPTION
  13.  
  14. Newer MACH64 video adapters do not have electrically erasable 
  15. programmable read-only memory (EEPROM); therefore, you must use 
  16. OS2INST.EXE instead of INSTALL.EXE.

  18. RESOLUTION

  20. To determine if the MACH64 is one with no EEPROM, look at the chip on 
  21. the adapter. It will have a number similar to 113-26910-110. The 269 
  22. portion of the number indicates the bus architecture. If the two 
  23. numbers immediately to the right of the 269 portion are 11 or higher, 
  24. the adapter has no EEPROM, and you must use OS2INST.EXE instead of 
  25. INSTALL.EXE. (In our example, the numbers are 10, indicating the 
  26. adapter DOES have EEPROM.)
