  11. DESCRIPTION
  12.  
  13. The following error messages are received when trying to format
  14. removable media, such as diskette drives and optical drives, as high 
  15. performance file system (HPFS):
  16.  
  17.    SYS0530: You must specify a hard disk with the FORMAT command.
  18.  
  19.    SYS1276: The FORMAT command has detected an incorrect parameter.

  22. RESOLUTION

  24. Removable media are treated as very large diskette drives and cannot be
  25. formatted HPFS.  Only nonremovable media, such as a hard disk, can be 
  26. formatted HPFS.
