  13. DESCRIPTION
  14.  
  15. The following LT00056 message occurs on an IBM ThinkPad 365XD:, 
  16.  
  17.   The open adapter request for IBM Token Ring was not complete within 
  18.   specified time, press Enter to continue.
  19.  
  20. RESOLUTION
  21.  
  22. 1. Open an OS/2 command prompt session and type E \CONFIG.SYS, then 
  23.    press Enter.
  24.  
  25. 2. Add the following statement at the beginning of the file:
  26.    
  27.      BASEDEV=RESERVE.SYS /IO:220,8
  28.  
  29. 3. Change the BASEDEV=AUTODRV2.SYS statement to:
  30.  
  31.    REM BASEDEV=AUTODRV2.SYS
  32.  
  33. 4. Save and exit the CONFIG.SYS file.
  34.  
  35. 5. From the OS/2 Desktop, launch the Plug n Play PCMCIA icon. 
  36.  
  37. 6. Choose Actions, then View PC Card List.
  38.  
  39. 7. Select the Token Ring card in the list, then select Remove.
  40.  
  41. 8. Shutdown and restart the system.
