OSMMCDRM - PROBLEMS PLAYING AUDIO CDS
07/22/96
======================================================================
Problems Playing Audio CDs
======================================================================
Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures
--------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION
If you ran Selective Uninstall to remove Multimedia support for some
reason, and then ran Selective Install to reinstall Multimedia support,
when you try to play an audio CD by clicking on the Compact Disc icon
in the Multimedia folder you will get an error message "the file
CDPM.EXE could not be found." Also, the Compact Disc icon (if present
at all), will look like an OS/2 window icon instead of the default
silver CD-ROM disc icon.
RESOLUTION
During Selective Install, if you have a SCSI CD-ROM drive, there is
often no CD-ROM drive listed in the System Configuration screen. To
correct this, click on the icon next to CD-ROM Device Support; a list
of compatible CD-ROM drives displays. You will either see the correct
CD-ROM drive highlighted, or OTHER will be highlighted. Click on OK,
then click on OK again. On the next screen, place a check mark next to
Multimedia Software Support, and click on Install. After finishing the
installation, shut down and restart the system. When the system comes
back up, you will be able to play audio CDs with no problems.
