  13. DESCRIPTION
  14.  
  15. Once you have downloaded the IC10390 fix for the systems, there is no 
  16. README file or instructions on how to apply it for GETHOSTNAME and 
  17. GETHOSTID error messages using the Advantis Dialer.
  18.  
  19. RESOLUTION
  20.  
  21. After downloading the IC10390 fix from the FTP site, follow the steps 
  22. below:
  23.  
  24.  1. From an OS/2 Window, locate the AFINET.SYS and INETCFG.EXE files on
  25.     the system. Type DIR /S AFINET.SYS (or INETCFG.SYS) from the root
  26.     directory to find the files.
  27.  
  28.     Note: Normally, the AFINET.SYS can be found in the
  29.           x:\MPTN\PROTOCOL subdirectory and INETCFG.EXE
  30.           in the x:\MPTN\BIN subdirectory (where x 
  31.           represents the drive where OS/2 is installed).

  33.  2. Rename the files. 
  34.                 
  35.     Change: AFINET.SYS
  36.     To:     AFINET.OLD
  37.  
  38.     Change: INETCFG.EXE  
  39.     To:     INETCFG.OLD  
  40.  
  41.     The files are renamed instead of replaced in case the two later file
  42.     versions are corrupted during the download process.
  43.  
  44.  3. Copy the new AFINET.SYS and INETCFG.EXE that you have downloaded to
  45.     the appropriate subdirectories.
  46.  
  47.  4. Shut down and restart your system for the changes to take affect.
  48.  
  49.  5. Make the connection that you tried when the error occurred. 
  50.  
  51.  6. The connection should now be made without any error messages.
  52.  
  53.  7. If you received no error messages, you can delete the AFINET.OLD and
  54.     INETCFG.OLD files.
  55.  
  56.  8. If there are error messages, you need to download IC10390 again.
  57.     Corruption occurred during the first download of the file.
  58.    
  59.  9. Repeat steps 2 through 7 with the newly downloaded file.
