  10. DESCRIPTION
  11.  
  12. During the OS/2 Warp 4 install, you are prompted to selected a
  13. network adapter, even if the machine is not in a networked environment 
  14. and the machine does not have a network adapter installed.
  15.  
  16. RESOLUTION
  17.  
  18. In OS/2 Warp 4, Multi-Protocol Transport Services (MPTS) is 
  19. automatically installed, even if no networking components are 
  20. selected.  
  21.  
  22. This is because the TCP/IP stack from MPTS is required for Internet 
  23. dialing, a capability you get even with no networking components 
  24. selected.  
  25.  
  26. In a "no network" environment, you will be required to select  No
  27. Adapter from the list of adapters (this list is in alphabetical order; 
  28. look for this option under "N").  When this option is selected, the 
  29. parallel port adapter is then installed.
