Required to Select Network Adapter During OS/2 Warp 4 Install -
Even if None Exists
=======================================================================
Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures
--------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION
During the OS/2 Warp 4 install, you are prompted to selected a
network adapter, even if the machine is not in a networked environment
and the machine does not have a network adapter installed.
RESOLUTION
In OS/2 Warp 4, Multi-Protocol Transport Services (MPTS) is
automatically installed, even if no networking components are
selected.
This is because the TCP/IP stack from MPTS is required for Internet
dialing, a capability you get even with no networking components
selected.
In a "no network" environment, you will be required to select No
Adapter from the list of adapters (this list is in alphabetical order;
look for this option under "N"). When this option is selected, the
parallel port adapter is then installed.
