  5.                  Running SYSINSTX on an HPFS Partition

  11. DESCRIPTION
  12.  
  13. When attempting to run SYSINSTX on an HPFS (High Performance Filing 
  14. System) partition, the following error occurs:
  15.  
  16.      The type of file system for the disk is HPFS
  17.      An internal error occurred.
  18.  
  19. RESOLUTION
  20.  
  21. This error occurs when the system cannot find the UHPFS.DLL file. To 
  22. resolve the problem:
  23.  
  24. 1. Insert OS/2 Utility Diskette (recommended) or OS/2 Installation 
  25.    Diskette 0 in drive A: and restart the system; insert Diskette 1 
  26.    when prompted. If you are using installation diskettes, press F3 
  27.    at the Easy or Advanced Option screen to go to a command prompt.

  29. 2. To start the HPFS filing system, run the CHKDSK command:
  30.  
  31.    * If using utility diskettes, insert Utility Diskette 3;
  32.  
  33.    * If using installation diskettes, insert OS/2 Installation 
  34.      Diskette 2;
  35.  
  36.    * If using CD-ROM installation diskettes, insert the OS/2 
  37.      Installation CD-ROM, change to the D:\OS2IMAGE\DISK_2 subdirectory,
  38.      where D: is the CD-ROM drive letter;
  39.  
  40.    Type CHKDSK X: and press Enter
  41.  
  42.    (where X: is the HPFS partition where OS/2 is installed).
  43.     
  44. 3. To access the UHPFS.DLL file, change to the X:\OS2\DLL directory. 
  45.  
  46. 4. Reinsert Utility Diskette or OS/2 Installation Diskette 0 in 
  47.    drive A: , type A:SYSINSTX X: and press Enter.
