DESCRIPTION
During OS/2 startup, a message appears:
SYS1201: OS2CDROM.DMD not installed
This indicates that the CD-ROM drive is not recognized.
RESOLUTION
1. Insert the OS/2 Installation Diskette into drive A: and restart
the system.
2. When prompted, remove the OS/2 Installation Diskette and insert
OS/2 Installation Diskette 1.
3. When the Welcome screen appears, press F3 to exit to a command
prompt.
4. Change to the drive where OS/2 is installed.
5. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file. Type TEDIT CONFIG.SYS and press
Enter.
6. Once you are in TEDIT, press the Esc key.
7. Use the arrow keys to scroll through the CONFIG.SYS file and look
for the correct drivers for your CD-ROM drive.
If you have an IDE CD-ROM, you should have BASEDEV statements for
IBM1S506.ADD and IBMIDECD.FLT.
If you have a SCSI CD-ROM connected to an adapter make sure you
check the Hardware Compatibility List to ensure that the SCSI
controller is supported. If the adapter says that it was tested by
OTHER then it is not supported; you will need to contact
the vendor for support.
