  12. DESCRIPTION
  13.  
  14. During OS/2 startup, a message appears:
  15.  
  16.      SYS1201: OS2CDROM.DMD not installed
  17.  
  18. This indicates that the CD-ROM drive is not recognized.
  19.  
  20. RESOLUTION
  21.  
  22.  
  23. 1. Insert the OS/2 Installation Diskette into drive A: and restart
  24.    the system.
  25.  
  26. 2. When prompted, remove the OS/2 Installation Diskette and insert 
  27.    OS/2 Installation Diskette 1.
  28.  
  29. 3. When the Welcome screen appears, press F3 to exit to a command
  30.    prompt. 
  31.  
  32. 4. Change to the drive where OS/2 is installed.
  33.  
  34. 5. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file. Type TEDIT CONFIG.SYS and press
  35.    Enter.
  36.  
  37. 6. Once you are in TEDIT, press the Esc key.
  38.  
  39. 7. Use the arrow keys to scroll through the CONFIG.SYS file and look 
  40.    for the correct drivers for your CD-ROM drive.

  42.    If you have an IDE CD-ROM, you should have BASEDEV statements for 
  43.    IBM1S506.ADD and IBMIDECD.FLT.
  44.  
  45.    If you have a SCSI CD-ROM connected to an adapter make sure you 
  46.    check the Hardware Compatibility List to ensure that the SCSI 
  47.    controller is supported. If the adapter says that it was tested by 
  48.    OTHER then it is not supported; you will need to contact
  49.    the vendor for support.
