  5. No Diskette Drive when Using an Adaptec 1542CP PNP ISA SCSI Card

  9. DESCRIPTION

  11. When an Adaptec 1542CP PnP (Plug and Play) ISA SCSI adapter with an 
  12. incorporated diskette controller is plugged into an ISA machine with a 
  13. diskette controller on the planar, the PnP configuration logic cannot 
  14. detect whether the diskette drive is attached to the SCSI adapter or 
  15. directly to the planar.

  17. Currently this logic assigns the diskette resources to the SCSI 
  18. controller. If the diskette drive is attached to the controller on the 
  19. planar, the machine will have NO diskette drive available. For this 
  20. reason, the diskette drive must be physically attached to the 
  21. controller on the SCSI adapter (PnP card) to be recognized.
