  12. DESCRIPTION

  14. Jack Nicklaus Unlimited Golf by Accolade runs very slowly or locks up 
  15. under OS/2 2.1. The game plays correctly until the ball lands in the 
  16. cup on the first hole. The system then locks up, with no error message, 
  17. and has to be restarted.

  19. RESOLUTION

  21. Upgrade to Version 1.5 of the program:
  22.  
  23. 1. Start a DOS Full Screen session.
  24.  
  25. 2. Open the Settings notebook for the program and set the DOS session
  26.    settings as follows:

  28.       DOS_BACKGROUND_EXECUTION = ON
  29.       DISABLE UNUSED_MEMORY_RESOURCES IE *_MEMORY_LIMIT = 0
  30.       HW_ROM_TO_RAM = ON
  31.       HW_TIMER = OFF
  32.       IDLE_SECONDS = 60
  33.       IDLE_SENSITIVITY = 100
  34.       VIDEO_SWITCH_NOTIFICATION = ON
  35.       DOS_HIGH = ON
  36.       INT_DURING_IO = ON
  37.       VIDEO_RETRACE_EMULATION = OFF
  38.       VIDEO_8514_XGA_IOTRAP = OFF

  40. This stops the lockup problem. If the game is still unacceptably slow, 
  41. consider upgrading to Version 1.6, which runs fine in a default DOS 
  42. session.
