  11. DESCRIPTION
  12.  
  13. This document describes what to do if you experience problems 
  14. installing OS/2 Warp on the IBM Aptiva.
  15.  
  16. RESOLUTION
  17.  
  18. Install WAPTIV.ZIP for OS/2 Warp 3.0 SYSLEVEL XR_3000.
  19.  
  20. Note: You must be at the General Availability (GA) level of code
  21.       (XR03000) to install WAPTIV.ZIP. To determine the level of your
  22.       system, type SYSLEVEL and press Enter at an OS/2 command prompt;
  23.       then look for "IBM OS/2 Base Operating System." Be sure the
  24.       "Current CSD Level" is XR03000.

  35. Downloading WAPTIV.ZIP from the PCC BBS

  37. Note: You need PKUNZIP to unzip" the downloaded file.

  39. 1. Dial the IBM PCC BBS at 919-517-0001.  When you connect to the BBS,
  40.    you are asked for the following information:
  41.  
  42.    Name (F):  First Name
  43.    Name (L):  Last Name
  44.    Password:  Create a password
  45.  
  46.    Note: If you cannot connect to the BBS, contact your local IBM
  47.    branch office.
  48.  
  49. 2. Press D at the New User Main Menu; then type the file name you want
  50.    to download. You need the following file:

  54.    WAPTIV.ZIP        (See "WAPTIV.ZIP Files" below.)

  56. 3. Select N, 8, 1 as the communications protocol.

  58. 4. Download WAPTIV.ZIP; then unzip it.

  67.    XDFCOPY.EXE:   Program to create XDF diskettes from image files
  68.    APTIVA.DOC:    Instructions for using the diskettes you create
  69.    APTIVA.CD1:    OS/2 Warp Replacement DISK 1 for CD-ROM installation
  70.    APTIVA.DK2:    OS/2 Warp Replacement DISK 2 for Diskette installation
  71.    APTIVA.UPD:    OS/2 Warp 3.0 Program Update diskette

  74. APTIVA CD1, DK2 and UPD files.

  77. create.
