Removing and Reinstalling UltiMail Lite--OS/2 Warp
=======================================================================
Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures

DESCRIPTION
Instructions for loading the latest version of UltiMail Lite.
RESOLUTION
Note: Make sure you have a backup of any file you intend to
change.
Delete the existing UMAIL Subdirectory
1. Shut down and then restart the system.
2. When the small white box appears in the upper-left corner,
press Alt+F1.
3. When the Recovery Choices screen appears, type C to get to an OS/2
command prompt.
4. Type the following and press Enter after each to delete the
UMAILWPS.DLL. (This file is a locked file when the system
is booted up to the desktop):
X: (where X: is the drive that TCP/IP is installed on)
CD \TCPIP
CD UMAIL
DEL UMAILWPS.DLL
5. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart the system.
6. At an OS/2 command prompt, type E CONFIG.SYS and press Enter
to edit the CONFIG.SYS file.
7. Remove all references to UMAIL. This will be referenced in three
places; the PATH, LIBPATH, and HELP statements.
8. Save and exit the file; then open the Drives icon view
(in the OS/2 System folder). Open the drive with TCPIP installed.
Click on the '+' by TCPIP to list TCPIP's subdirectories. Using the
right mouse button, select and hold the UMAIL directory and drag
it to the shredder.
Delete the entire subdirectory.
9. Shutdown and then restart the system.
Get Latest Version of UltiMail Lite
Note: You need PKUNZIP to "unzip" the files when they are
downloaded.
1. Connect to your provider.
2. Open the IBM Internet Connection folder.
3. Use the Web Explorer to access the following Web site:
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ps/products/umlite/fixes/
4. Double-click on UMF21004.ZIP and select OK to copy the file to your
local disk.
5. Choose a local directory where you would like to download the file,
then select OK.
6. Once downloaded, open an OS/2 window and change directory to the
directory you specified the file to be downloaded to.
7. Unzip UMF21004.ZIP.
8. Type INSTALL and press Enter. A new copy of UltiMail
Version 2.10.004 is installed.
9. When installation is complete, shut down and then restart
the system.
Connect to your provider and start the new version of UltiMail.
Reappearance of "Access a Network" Window
If the Access a Network window reappears, do the following:
1. Open an OS/2 command prompt.
2. Change the directory to \TCPIP\UMAIL.
3. Type E UMAIL.PRO to edit the UMAIL.PRO file.
4. At the bottom of the file, add the following tag:
:USER id = 'reply_id'
name = 'your name'
otherid = 'Internet'
reply_id = 'your_reply_id'
reply_domain = 'your.reply.domain'.
Note: The period (.) on the last line is very important. Be
sure to enter it. Also, remember that your e-mail address is
in the following format: replyID @ reply_domain.
5. Save the file.
6. Start UltiMail (enter your password when prompted).
7. If prompted, enter the POP information.
