  8.         TITLE: 940426 CANNOT RUN CBT UNDER THIS OPERATING SYSTEM
  9.                IN EXCEL 5.0 FOR WINDOWS TUTORIAL
  10.                CBT COULD NOT BE EXECUTED ERROR OCCURS
  11.  
  12.         DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
  13.         Using tutorial for Excel 5.0, CBT could not be executed
  14.         error occurs.
  15.

  17.  
  18.     The message: "You cannot run the CBT with this operating system."
  19.     is received.
  20.  
  21.         SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:
  22.         1.  Using an editor open the file SETUP.STF and change
  23.             ObjID 115 so that it reads:
  24.             115    Yes    Depend   114 ? 117 1266 : 117 1266
  25.             us     Yes    D:\EXCEL\
  26.         2.  Start a WIN-OS/2 fullscreen session and run the EXCEL
  27.             SETUP and chose REINSTALL. After install is
  28.             finished EXCEL CBT will be installed and ready to run
  29.         after modifying the EXCEL5.INI file.
  30.         3.  Using an editor modify or add the CBTLOCATION= line in the
  31.             EXCEL5.INI file in the WINOS2 or Windows directory so
  32.             that it references where the CBT files are stored
  33.             (X:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT).  If this line is not included in
  34.         EXCEL5.INI you will receive the message:
  35.  
  36.         "The path in your EXCEL5.INI file does not include
  37.          the directory that contains the CBT files. Edit
  38.          the EXCEL5.INI file by typing the path of the CBT
  39.          directory on the CBTLOCATION=line under
  40.              [Microsoft Excel], and try again."
  41.  
  42.         4.  Similar problem occurs in Word for Windows 6.0 and is
  43.             addressed in PDDB CNZXS and APAR PJ11665.
  44.  
  45.         DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
  46.         1.  From command prompts folder open an OS2 Window
  47.             session.
  48.           a.  Change to the \EXCEL\SETUP directory on a local
  49.               install or to the \EXCEL on a network install by
  50.               typing: CD EXCEL\SETUP or CD EXCEL then press
  51.               <Enter>
  52.           b.  Open SETUP.STF using the E editor by typing: E
  53.               SETUP.STF then press <Enter>
  54.           c.  Change ObjID 115 so that it reads:
  55.               115   Yes   Depend   114 ? 117 1266 : 117 1266
  56.               us    Yes   D:\EXCEL\
  57.           d.  Save changes to the SETUP.STF file.
  58.         2.  Start WIN-OS/2 fullscreen session and run EXCEL SETUP
  59.             from the icon. Chose the REINSTALL selection
  60.             and when install is finished EXCEL CBT will be
  61.             installed and ready to run.
  62.             Note:  You will have to go to a DOS Full Screen session
  63.                and run _mssetup.exe found in the \EXCEL\SETUP directory.
  64.         3.  After completing 2 above use any editor or an OS2 editor
  65.             to edit EXCEL5.INI.  If using the OS2 Editor:
  66.           a.  Change to the WINOS2 or Windows directory depending on
  67.           your installation by typing:
  68.               CD OS2\MDOS\WINOS2 or CD WINDOWS
  69.               then press <Enter>
  70.           b.  Open the file (EXCEL5.INI) using the E editor by
  71.               typing: E EXCEL5.INI then press <Enter>
  72.           c.  Verify that the line CBTLOCATION= in the [Microsoft Excel]
  73.           section points to
  74.               X:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT where X: is the drive
  75.               where EXCEL resides.
  76.               (i.e. CBTLOCATION=C:\EXCEL\EXCELCBT)
  77.           IF the line does not exist include it as shown below.
  78.           Note:  The other lines below are just example lines.
  79.              and shows an MSOFFICE installation.
