RECOVERING LOST COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER OR LAN SERVICES AND
UPM ICONs
================================================================
Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures

Lan Services/UPM
1. Type: \IBMLAN\INSTALL\LANINST
2. Select OK
3. Select Advanced
4. Select Install or Configure this WS and select OK
5. Select Fixed Disk where the requester is installed and
select OK
6. Select Configure a Component and select OK
7. Select LAN Adapter & Protocol Support - Configure
8. Select Configure WS and select OK
9. Select OK on the Configure WS Screen. Do not make any
changes.
10. Select Configuration Complete and select OK
11. Select OK on LAN Adapters
12. Select OK on Configure Screen
13. Select OK to apply changes, although none were made.
NOTE: If the requester is running, select OK to stop requester
14. Select OK on File Backup. Note the directory and name of
backed-up CONFIG.SYS, if recovery is needed.
When the operation is completed the LAN Services and UPM ICONs
are on the desk top.
15. Perform a shutdown and restart the system.

Communications Manager--E/S 1.0 only
NOTE: Backup CONFIG.SYS, in case a recovery is required
1. Type REINST
2. Select Option 1 Install Communications Manager
3. Select Option 1 Configuration Files
4. Select Ecs-Cancel on CM Configuration File Menu
5. Select F3 on CM Install Menu
6. Select F3 on ES Install/Remove Menu
When the operation completes the Communications Manager ICON is
on the desk top.
7. Perform a shutdown and restart the system.
