INSTALLING OS/2 WITHOUT WINDOWS 3.1 7/18/94
OS2WIN31 INSTALLING OS/2 WITHOUT WINDOWS 3.1
PLEASE READ ENTIRE DOCUMENT FOR FULL EXPLANATION OF PROCEDURES
****************************************************************
DOES "OS/2 FOR WINDOWS" REQUIRE DOS/WINDOWS 3.1?
Can OS/2 for Windows be installed without Windows 3.1?
Windows 3.1 is required to install OS2 for Windows if you desire
WinOS2 support. However, if you do not want WINOS2 support, then
you could simply install from the OS2 diskettes even though you
do not have Windows 3.1 installed on your machine. You would
then have an OS2 system minus the WinOS2 functionality.
If you decide at a later time that you would like WINOS2
support, then you could perform a selective install of WINOS2-
during this process you would be prompted for the actual Windows
3.1 diskettes.
