  1. TITLE: 950130 Installing from CDROM, using device drivers other
  2.               than IBM supplied drivers. (WARP)

  4. DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
  5.     If the user is installing from a drive other
  6.     than A: (e.g.  CDROM), and a device driver
  7.     that does not exist on DISK #1 (note: user has
  8.     the device driver file from the vendor), the install
  9.     process will not copy this file onto the
  10.     hardfile after the installation is complete. The
  11.     cause of this problem is because if the user could
  12.     not boot with the drivers that are present on the
  13.     hardfile, then he will have to boot from
  14.     diskettes or another partition, then copy the device
  15.     driver file over.

  17. RESOLUTION:
  18.     Development has added an environment variable called
  19.     copyfromfloppy that the installation program will
  20.     read from CONFIG.SYS on diskette #1.  If the
  21.     CONFIG.SYS has the statement " set copyfromfloppy=1 ", then
  22.     the installation program will copy files from
  23.     disk #1 if the diskette is in the drive, and the
  24.     installation is from a drive other than A:.
