Coexistence with IBM LAN Requester
*********************
Prerequisites for installing the NetWare Client for OS/2
You need these items before you can connect to the NetWare
network:
o NetWare Client for OS/2
o A NetWare server on the network
o OS/2 File Server utilities installed on the NetWare servers
NetWare Client for OS/2:
You need to get the correct version of the NetWare Client for
OS/2 (also referred to as the NetWare Requester for OS/2).
This is based on the version of OS/2 you have.
If you have: You need:
OS/2 2.0 or 2.1 NetWare Client for OS/2 Version 2.10
The NetWare Client for OS/2 from IBM is a company-wide license,
which can be installed on an unlimited number of workstations in
a single company.
For NetWare Client for OS/2 Version 2.10:
You can purchase the NetWare Client for OS/2 Version 2.10, which
includes a manual and three diskettes, for about $99.00 by calling
1-800-3IBM-OS2. Ask for part number:
Part #83G0306 (for 3.5-inch diskettes)
Part #83G0307 (for CD-ROM)
You can also download the latest version (v2.10) of the NetWare
Client for OS/2 from CompuServe or from the IBM PCC BBS. The
downloaded files contain documentation in OS/2 INF (VIEW) format.
See the "Downloading Information" section of this document for
instructions. The README.DOC file for Version 2.10 of the requester
is on WSOS2_1 diskette in the \NLS\ENGLISH\README.DOC file.
NetWare Server:
Make sure you have a NetWare server for your OS/2 client to
attach to BEFORE you boot up the OS/2 client. This server
should also have the OS/2 File Server utilities installed on it.
These utilities are the OS/2 versions of login, logout, etc. If
your server already has OS/2 clients attached and running, you
should not have to worry about installing these utilities
because they should already be on the server. If the OS/2
utilities have been installed on the server, you will see OS2
subdirectories in the PUBLIC and LOGIN directories. (For
NetWare 3.x servers, an OS2 subdirectory will also appear in the
SYSTEM directory.)
OS/2 File Server Utilities:
You need to have the OS/2 file server utilities on your server
before you can login from an OS/2 client. These file server
utilities come with NetWare 3.11, 3.12, 4.0, and 4.01, or you
can download them from CompuServe or the IBM PCC BBS.
See the "Downloading Information" section of this document
for more details.
NOTE: The files on the BBS are 3.11 OS/2 utilities.

You need to do the following to find instructions for creating
the diskette images:
1. At the main menu of the IBM PCC BBS, type HELP <enter>
