OSOTWSWP - SWAPPER FILE SIZE IS LARGER IN OS/2 WARP
12/09/94
================================================================
SWAPPER FILE SIZE IS LARGER IN OS/2 WARP
================================================================
Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures
---------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION:
The SWAPPER file is larger in Warp than in previous releases of
OS/2.
SUMMARY:
In previous versions of OS/2, DLL code was never copied to the
SWAPPER file. In WARP, code for system DLL's can be written to
the SWAPPER file and, during boot, PMMERGE, DOSCALL1, PMGPI, PMWP
and PMVIOP are swapped out. This means an overall increase in
SWAPPER size and an increase in overall system performance.
The most significant change is how system DLL's are loaded and
what is now valid data for swapping.
System DLL's include:
DISPLAY SOM PMMERGE PMWP
DOSCALL1 PMATM PMMLE
IBMDEV32 PMCTLS PMSPL
IBMVGA32 PMGPI PMVIOP
