  3. CONCURRENT LOGONS WITH THE SAME USER ID
  4.  
  5. DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS
  6.     1.  Receive the error message "Logon is denied.  You are already
  7.         logged onto this domain" when attempting to log on to
  8.         an OS/2 LAN Requester.
  9.     2.  Receive the error message "NET240:  The user is already
  10.         logged onto another workstation" when attempting to log on
  11.         to a DOS LAN Requester.
  12.  
  13. SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION
  14.     The user is logged onto another workstation and multilogon is
  15.     not enabled.  Enable multilogon.
  16.  
  17. DETAILS OF RESOLUTION
  18.     1.  Multilogon is not available on OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.3.
  19.     2.  Multilogon is available on OS/2 LAN Server Versions 2.0
  20.         and 3.0 (Requester, Server, and DOS LAN Requester).
  21.     3.  For OS/2 LAN Requester/Server:
  22.         a.  In \IBMLAN\IBMLAN.INI in the LSclient section, change
  23.             the multilogon parameter to yes to enable multilogon.
  24.                 MULTILOGON=YES
  25.         b.  Stop and restart the requester service in order for
  26.             this parameter to take effect.
  27.             NOTE:  Every user who logs on to the network with this
  28.             user ID after the first log on will receive an error
  29.             message to the effect that this is a duplicate name on
  30.             the network.  The user will not be able to receive
  31.             messages sent to this name, but the user will still be
  32.             able to log on.
  33.     4.  For DOS LAN Requester:
  34.         a.  Add the /MLO parameter to the DOSLAN.INI file to enable
  35.             multilogon.
  36.         b.  Stop and restart the requester service in order for
  37.             this parameter to take effect.
  38.             NOTE:  Every user who logs on to the network with this
  39.             user ID after the first log on will receive an error
  40.             message to the effect that this is a duplicate name on
  41.             the network.  The user will not be able to receive
  42.             messages sent to this name, but the user will still be
  43.             able to log on.
  44.     5.  These parameters are documented in the "IBM OS/2 LAN Server
  45.         Network Administrator Reference Volume 2: Performance
  46.         Tuning" Version 2.0 and 3.0.
