USING A QUANTUM HARD CARD WITH OS/2, 2.X, WARP
================================================================
Please Read Entire Document For Full Explanation of Procedures
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. Access to the Quantum Hard Cards that use the driver
IBM1S506.ADD is gained by using the switch settings for a
secondary controller. The switches are the adapter number
and the IRQ level.
2. If you have the Quantum XL50 or XL105 Hard Cards, then a BIOS
upgrade is required for OS/2. Contact the vendor for
assistance with Hard Card setup and BIOS upgrades.
3. OS/2 2.X, Warp - If you have a Quantum Hard Card, you must
make a modification to the BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD line in the
CONFIG.SYS file on Diskette 1 before you install OS/2 2.X,
Warp. The BASEDEV statement should be:
BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD /A:1 /IRQ:11
These are the default settings for the Quantum hard card.
If you have added a device driver statement to the CONFIG.SYS
file on Diskette 1 and later migrate your old CONFIG.SYS
file, make sure there are not two copies of this statement
in your file. If you there are two copies of the statement
in the file, REM one statement out.
