  6. If you are running OS/2 and your CD ROM is supported by OS/2 you
  7. can use INSTALL program to install from CD or create diskettes.
  8. If your CD ROM is not supported from OS/2, and you are able to
  9. access the CD ROM from DOS, you can still create OS/2 CD install
  10. diskettes or product diskettes for OS/2 and the other products.
  11.  
  12. The utility LOADDSKF is used to create the actual diskette from
  13. disk images that are on the CD ROM.  LOADDSKF.EXE is in the
  14. \DISKIMGS directory.  LOADDSKF can be run in either DOS or OS/2.
  15.

  17. If you are unable to install directly from the CD you can create
  18. the product diskettes and use them to install and configure OS/2
  19. 2.1.  Below is a list of the product disks for OS/2 2.1, and the
  20. actual disk names as they exist on this CD ROM.  For each disk
  21. image file you must use LOADDSKF to expand the image to its own
  22. diskette.  For example:
  23.  
  24.               X:\DISKIMGS\LOADDSKF
  25.               X:\DISKIMGS\OS2\<size>\<disk_name> d:
  26.  
  27. where:  X:  drive letter of the CD ROM
  28. <size> is 35 for 3.5" diskettes, 525 for 5.25" diskettes
  29. <disk_name> disk image filename, i.e., DISK0.DSK, PMDD1.DSK, etc
  30. d:  is the drive letter of your diskette drive (A: or B:)
  31.  
  32. NOTE:  Use previously formatted diskettes for the target (d:).
  33.  
  34. With all diskettes at hand (26 for 3.5", 31 for 5.25") and the
  35. DISK0 diskette in drive A:, reboot your system and follow the
  36. instructions to install OS/2 2.1.
