Installing a DLR from LS 3.0 CD-ROM 7/29/94
TITLE: 940703 INSTALLING A DOS LAN REQUESTER FROM LAN SERVER 3.0
CD-ROM
DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
Need to install DOS LAN Requester from the IBM LAN Server
3.0 CD-ROM.
SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:
To install DOS LAN Requester from the IBM LAN Server 3.0
CD-ROM, use the backup diskettes which can be made from
the CD-ROM installation program. Four blank formatted
high-density (1.44 MB) diskettes are required to make the
backup diskettes.
DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
1. Insert the LAN Server 3.0 CD-ROM in the drive.
2. For US installation, type the following at the
OS/2 command prompt:
d:CDINST
(where d = the CD-ROM drive)
NOTE: Countries other than US, please refer to
page 1-8 in the OS/2 LAN Server CD-ROM
Installation Guide Version 3.0.
3. On the CD-ROM Welcome window (IBM LOGO), select
OK
4. On the CD-ROM Installation window, select
Make 3.5-inch product diskettes
5. On the next CD-ROM Installations window, select
DOS LAN Requester 3.0 and LAN Support Program
(4 diskettes)
You will be prompted to insert each diskette into the
drive (you can change the drive letter) and to label
each diskette.
6. Use these diskettes to install DOS LAN Requester (for
each license you have purchased) following the
instructions in the IBM OS/2 LAN Server Network
Administrator Reference Volume 1: Planning and
Installation Version 3.0, page 5-4 "Installing DOS LAN
Requester from Diskettes".
NOTE: There are two readme's (README.DOC and
README2.DOC) which contain additional information
that may be of interest.
The files are found under \countrycode\version
where countrycode = your country's abbreviation
version = IBMLSA for Advanced Server
or
IBMLSE for Entry Server
Example:
For an Advanced install in the US, the files
are in \USA\IBMLSA subdirectory.
