  3. TITLE: 940703 INSTALLING A DOS LAN REQUESTER FROM LAN SERVER 3.0
  4.               CD-ROM

  6. DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
  7.     Need to install DOS LAN Requester from the IBM LAN Server
  8.     3.0 CD-ROM.
  9.  
  10. SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:
  11.     To install DOS LAN Requester from the IBM LAN Server 3.0
  12.     CD-ROM, use the backup diskettes which can be made from
  13.     the CD-ROM installation program.  Four blank formatted
  14.     high-density (1.44 MB) diskettes are required to make the
  15.     backup diskettes.
  16.  
  17. DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
  18.     1.  Insert the LAN Server 3.0 CD-ROM in the drive.
  19.  
  20.     2.  For US installation, type the following at the
  21.         OS/2 command prompt:
  22.  
  23.             d:CDINST
  24.             (where d = the CD-ROM drive)
  25.  
  26.         NOTE:  Countries other than US, please refer to
  27.                page 1-8 in the OS/2 LAN Server CD-ROM
  28.                Installation Guide Version 3.0.
  29.  
  30.     3.  On the CD-ROM Welcome window (IBM LOGO), select
  31.  
  32.             OK
  33.  
  34.     4.  On the CD-ROM Installation window, select
  35.  
  36.             Make 3.5-inch product diskettes
  37.  
  38.     5.  On the next CD-ROM Installations window, select
  39.  
  40.             DOS LAN Requester 3.0 and LAN Support Program
  41.             (4 diskettes)
  42.  
  43.         You will be prompted to insert each diskette into the
  44.         drive (you can change the drive letter) and to label
  45.         each diskette.
  46.  
  47.     6.  Use these diskettes to install DOS LAN Requester (for
  48.         each license you have purchased) following the
  49.         instructions in the IBM OS/2 LAN Server Network
  50.         Administrator Reference Volume 1:  Planning and
  51.         Installation Version 3.0, page 5-4 "Installing DOS LAN
  52.         Requester from Diskettes".
  53.  
  54.     NOTE:  There are two readme's (README.DOC and
  55.            README2.DOC) which contain additional information
  56.            that may be of interest.
  57.  
  58.            The files are found under \countrycode\version
  59.  
  60.            where countrycode = your country's abbreviation
  61.                      version = IBMLSA for Advanced Server
  62.                                 or
  63.                                IBMLSE for Entry Server
  64.  
  65.            Example:
  66.  
  67.                For an Advanced install in the US, the files
  68.                are in \USA\IBMLSA subdirectory.
