  7.         DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:

  9.         Unable to install OS/2 2.1 on an EISA system with an Adaptec
  10.         1742A controller card.
  11.  
  12.         SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:
  13.  
  14.         Run the Setup Configuration Program provided with the Adaptec
  15.         card Setup diskette.  Setup the card to the configuration
  16.         described below.

  18.         DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:

  20.         Set up the Adaptec Card in the following configuration using
  21.         the Setup Diskette supplied with the controller.
  22.  
  23.         1. Enhanced Mode to OFF
  24.         2. Standard Mode to ON
  25.         3. Hex Address to C800
  26.         4. I/O Port to 230H
  27.         5. DMA Channel to 5
  28.         5. Parity Check to OFF
  29.         6. Synchronous Negotiation to ON
  30.         7. Enabled Disconnect to YES
  31.         8. IRQ to 11 (default is 2)
