I was reading e-Mail in MR/2 ICE. Answered a message. At the
next 2 minute ICE fetch mail interval after finishing the message,
I-Serv was no longer responding. Tried to use Netscape and then
tried NFTP, with no response, from I-Serv. Time was about 22:05.

This connection was dropped for some reason while I was
FTP'ing JAVA 1.14 from 'service.boulder.ibm.com/software/asd/java144/en_us/ .
Prior to downloading Java 1.14, I had downloaded Fix Pack 32 and the
new Netscape.

This was the second connection with:
servuce.boulder.ibm.com/software/asd/java114/en_us/java114.zip
which was dropped. Just because this is a 34MB file is no reason
to drop the connection. And when I got home from church, NFTP,
showed a download rate in excess of 2,000 b/s.

This was too slow a connection for my mail reader program,
Mail Reader/2 ICE, to download the waiting mail. It was even
too slow for my clock correcting program, Time868, to connect
to an atomic clock and check the computers clock.

I had two downloads going and they both vanished into the
ether.
One was an FTP download. The second was an HTTP download, via
Netscape/2. My dialer program showed no data transfer between Iserv
and my modem for 1 1/2 minutes. Then the dialers text ticker made
one transaction after another 35 seconds, before the FTP connection
to Hobbes, timed out.
After that I shutdown the dialer so I could call Iserv's Tech
Support and see if they had a clue as to where the connections had
gone.

This was an unsuccessful connection. As usual, when a connection
is made a less than 28,800, my mail reader program, MR/2 ICE, is unable
to download the mail. Also, "Time868" was timing out in its attempts
to update my computer system clock by connecting to Pittsburg State
Universities "Atomic clock (?)." On the following connection, "Time868"
connected to Pittsburg State University and had updated the time in
about 5 seconds.

logged on and had 64 messages qued. 39 percent on the way through
