Weasel (Peter Moylan's POP3 and SMTP daemon)
====================================================
Last updated 1999-11-11
Current version: 0.90
This is non-crippled shareware. Pricing and similar details
are covered in the documentation file WEASEL.INF.
Why would you want a POP3/SMTP server? Well, basically you need
this (or something similar) if you want to set up e-mail accounts
for more than one person on your computer. Now you can have
separate e-mail addresses for your children, your cat, or whomever
else needs one. Or, of course, you can set up your OS/2 machine
as the mail server for your office.
The catch - there's always a catch - is that it's useless to run
such a server unless your computer is going to be on-line most
of the time (or unless you can arrange to get mail relayed from
a machine that's on-line most of the time). Otherwise your
correspondents will be left with lots of bounced mail. This
version of Weasel does have provision for handling the dial-up
case, but the average dial-up user should probably not install this
package.

QUICK INSTALLATION
1. Unzip the distribution file into a directory of your choice,
for example D:\Apps\Weasel.
2. Read the file Weasel.INF.
The file source.zip is optional. You can delete it if you're not
interested in the source code.

FEEDBACK
To tell me about errors, desired features, etc., send e-mail
to peter@ee.newcastle.edu.au. If you do this, I'll put you on
a mailing list of people who are told about new releases of
my software. (Of course you can ask to be left off the mailing
list.)
