  10. TelnetP is freely distributable software (Freeware), meaning that you may
  11. copy and distribute it as much as you like, as long as it is not modified.
  12. Being freeware, no warranties as to performance or suitability are given.

  15. Program Description:
  16. --------------------
  17.   TelnetP is designed to replace the default TELNETPM.EXE that comes with
  18.   OS/2 Warp and Warp Connect, thus providing an easy interface to other
  19.   telnet clients you might wish to use instead.  TelnetP simply calls the
  20.   TelPM.CMD batch/REXX file and passes the given telnet address.

  22. Why TelnetP?
  23. ------------
  24.   The main reason I wrote TelnetP is that the OS/2 WebExplorer does not
  25.   seem to let you configure a different telnet client.  This forces you to
  26.   use the woeful TelnetPM application which does not support Zmodem file
  27.   transfers, IBM extended ASCII, scripts, and other niceties I expect in a
  28.   good terminal program.

  30. Usage Instructions:
  31. -------------------
  32.   1. Rename x:\TCPIP\BIN\TELNETPM.EXE to TNETPM.EXE as a backup
  33.   2. Copy TelnetP.exe to x:\TCPIP\BIN\TelnetPM.exe
  34.   3. Customize the TelPM.CMD file as needed so it starts your
  35.      favourite telnet program, then place it in x:\TCPIP\BIN
  36.  
  37.   Once installed, any program or command that calls TelnetPM will simply
  38.   run TelPM.CMD, which you customize to run whatever you want!

  40.   I have supplied TelZOC.cmd (OS/2 batch file) and TelZocSC.cmd (REXX
  41.   script file for ZOC) as examples of how you can use TelnetP to use ZOC as
  42.   your telnet client from the OS/2 WebExplorer.  To use them, simply copy
  43.   TelZOC.cmd to x:\TCPIP\BIN\TelPM.cmd and adjust the drive and path
  44.   information to suit your situation.  Feel free to modify these cmd files
  45.   or create your own to have TelnetP run your favourite OS/2 telnet client.

  47.   To uninstall TelnetP, simply copy the TNETPM.EXE backup you made to
  48.   x:\TCPIP\BIN\TELNETPM.EXE.
