  5.      1. There are literally THOUSANDS of files available through FTP
  6.         that have the .TXT file extension. Tell me the exact location
  7.         of just one of these files (hint: see MAP17).

  9.              ANSWER: There were three ways you could have found the
  10.                      answer:

  12.                      1. Doing an Archie search with the keyword "txt"
  13.                      2. Doing a Veronica search with the keyword "txt"
  14.                      3. Accesing a random ftp site and looking around for
  15.                      a "txt" file
  16.  
  17.              I hope you chose the first option :) BTW, I did not list
  18.              the answer because there are THOUSANDS of correct answers.

  21.      2. Rick Gates has a monthly competition called "The Internet Hunt."
  22.         The Hunt asks ten of the most contrived questions you have ever
  23.         seen, and the Hunt's participants have to find the answers using
  24.         nothing but the Internet (and they also have to show where they
  25.         found the answers).

  27.         Come to think of it, the Internet Hunt is a lot like this pop
  28.         quiz ... hmmmm ....

  30.         I have heard that Rick places the Hunt results on the CICNET Gopher
  31.         server (gopher.cic.net) in Michigan (U.S.)

  33.         I am interested in the Hunt results. In particular, I am interested
  34.         in May, 1994 results.

  42.                      Alabama named Patrick Crispen :)

  48.      3. I just tried a Veronica search and I got an "Empty Menu" error
  49.         for a file that I *KNOW* exists. I should call my local Internet
  50.         service provider and complain, right? Explain your answer :)

  53.              ANSWER: NO! Your local Internet service provider is only
  54.                      responsible for the LOCAL part of your service. If
  55.                      you are having a problem accessing a distant file,
  56.                      there is a really good chance that the problem is
  57.                      at the distant site.

  59.                      Your provider has no control over distant sites, so
  60.                      calling them will not help you at all. Your best bet
  61.                      is to try your search later.
