The DLL contained here is for use ONLY with the ProNews 1.5 beta 1 that can be obtained from hobbes.nmsu.edu as pn2_15b1.zip.
Do not use this DLL on any other version. It may not work. It may crash. It could do _anything_!
Before application of this replacement DLL ProNews Help/Product Information should report "Build ia093" just below the graphic at the right hand side. After application of this DLL it should report "Build ia093a".
How to apply the fix.
1) Shutdown ProNews/2.
2) At an OS/2 command prompt, change to the directory where you have ProNews installed and rename the existing copy of the ProNews.DLL file to a different name.
3) Unzip the contents of this zip file into your ProNews installation directory.
4) Restart ProNews and check the build number.
What's fixed.
1) Replies to posts after Jan 1 2000 will contain the correct date and the correct day.
2) Posts made and downloaded after Jan 1 2000 will no longer be deleted immediately by the "Purge" process if you specify a number of days.
3) Group/Refresh Newsgroup list... will now send 2 character years to the server as specified by RFC 977.
What's not fixed or is broken!
1) Forwarding your own posts from the "Sent Messages" folder will still say that every day is Sunday. The date is correct but the day is not.
2) Spell Checking functionality is no longer present. Sorry, we don't have the source to this bit.
