  29. INSTALLATION:
  30.  
  31. 1. Copy the OS2WWWxx.ZIP file into a directory named "\PowerWeb" and
  32.    change your current directory to "\PowerWeb".
  33.  
  34. 2. Unzip using either pkunzip or unzip as follows:
  35.  
  36.    unzip -x os2www.zip
  37.    pkunzip -d os2www.zip
  38.  
  39.    Note: It is important to use the command line switches shown above to
  40.    create the sub-directories below "\PowerWeb".
  41.  
  42. 3. Run install, according to your IP ADDRESS:
  43.  
  44.    (note: if you are running the 4OS2 command shell, please exit it first)
  45.  
  46. a. If you are using a dynamic IP address, then ensure that your
  47.    HOSTS file in your \mptn\etc or \tcpip\etc directory contains the
  48.    following line:
  49.  
  50.       127.0.0.1 localhost
  51.  
  52.    and then run
  53.  
  54.       INSTALL -local
  55.  
  56.    and follow its instructions carefully, and fill in all forms completely.
  57.  
  58. b. If you are using a permanent IP address, then run
  59.  
  60.       INSTALL
  61.  
  62.    and follow its instructions carefully, and fill in all forms completely.
  63.  
  64. 4. Do not delete the OS2WWWxx.ZIP file after a successful installation,
  65.    it has been moved to a system directory, in case you need to re-install.
  66.  
  67. 5. If you experience problems, such as reported TCP/IP configuration
  68.    problems, please load the file tcpipos2.htm into your browser and
  69.    follow its suggestions.

  73. UPDATES / UPGRADING:
  74.  
  75. 1. Copy the OS2WWWxx.ZIP file into an empty directory such as "\Upgrade"
  76.    and change your current directory to "\Upgrade".
  77.  
  78. 2. Unzip using either pkunzip or unzip as follows:
  79.  
  80.    unzip -x os2www.zip
  81.    pkunzip -d os2www.zip
  82.  
  83.    Note: It is important to use the command line switches shown above to
  84.    create the sub-directories below "\Upgrade".

  86. 3. Shut down the existing PowerWeb server.
  87.  
  88. 4. Run INSTALL.CMD from the "\Upgrade" directory, NOT the existing
  89.    "\PowerWeb" directory.

  91.    (note: if you are running the 4OS2 command shell, please exit it first)
  92.  
  93. 5. When INSTALL asks you which installation option to choose, select
  94.    "UPGRADE an existing PowerWeb Server++ installation."
  95.  
  96. 6. Fill in the form completely - you do not need to be online to the
  97.    Internet.
  98.  
  99. 7. Your existing configuration is preserved and your existing license will
  100.    continue to operate.
  101.  
  102. 8. Submit the form and the server will restart with the new version.
  103.  
  104. 9. You can now remove the "\Upgrade" directory, if desired.
  105.  
  106. 10.If you subsequently need to run an old version (version 2.07beta5 onwards),
  107.    there is a menu option on the main "/admin" page to choose which version
  108.    to run.
