  22. Installing the News Update
  23. ==========================

  25. Requirements
  26. ------------

  28. 1. You must be a registered user to use this update.  This version will NOT
  29.    run when applied to the demo version available from many places on the
  30.    Internet
  31.  
  32. 2. You must currently have NeoLogic Network Suite V2.1b installed or the
  33.    the results of this update may be unpredictable.  If you are a registered
  34.    user and you have a version previous to this, contact us to arrange for an
  35.    upgrade.

  38. Installation
  39. ============

  41. Follow these instructions to successfully install the News update:
  42.  
  43. - Stop any currently executing copy of News
  44. - Back up the \NeoLogic\News\<Server> subdirectory (Precautionary only)
  45. - Copy the NEOTEMP.DLL file to the \Neologic directory where NNS is currently
  46.   installed
  47. - Copy the new NEWS.EXE over the existing version in the \NEWS directory.

  53. 1. If you have the "-s" parameter specified in your News Desktop object
  54.    settings, remove it.  The "-s<server>" parameter in the settings is OK.
  55.    If you have more than one news server, copy the News program object and add
  56.    the "-s<server>" parameter to each copy.  Rename the object if desired to
  57.    indicate which server the object attaches to.

  59. 2. Changes to the on-line documentation and help are not available in this
  60.    release.

  62. 3. The Address Book and Jargon Demystifier are not available in this release.
