Bug Fixes for the V4.5d Release
=====================================
* = Major Bug
+ = Minor Bug
News * The window size/position of the decoder window no longer gets
messed up if the program is closed while the window is max/minimized
* The window size/position of the queued posting window no longer gets
messed up if the program is closed while the window is max/minimized
* A failed posting from the off-line window no longer causes an infinite
loop to be initiated.
+ When sorting by thread: 2 messages with the same reference list are
correctly sorted by date.
+ The subscription update should be a bit faster for groups with
expired messages.
+ CCing e-mail to yourself no longer requires 2 mail messages to be
sent.
+ CCing e-mail to yourself now works properly when mail is created
while off-line
+ Failed e-mail no longer gets inadvertantly removed
+ Some peculiarities associated with set creation in the decoder
window have been cleaned up. If you add decoder items with the "D"
option after starting the decoder, the items now go into a new set.
+ The "Info" dialog available from the message list window, now shows
the entire x-refrence string.
+ The priority of the decoder has been restored somewhat
+ Posting a message with a line containing only "." no longer fools
the network posting code into thinking it's at the end of the message.
+ The network read code has been massaged in hopes of reducing the
sporatic "hangs" that have been reported for article fetches.
+ The default server is now saved properly after changing to another
configuration notebook page from the server page.
+ The decoder window no counts lines as they are loaded.
+ The decoder window contents are now saved on exit and the decoder
window pops up on startup if it contains queued data.
+ The group description information now displays correctly in the
available groups window.
+ Crosspost marking works better now.
+ Posting now have the MIME header information attached.
+ The available groups are now saved in a sorted state when the
group window is closed, making subsequent opens faster
+ Closing the program after the available group window has been opened
is now faster.
+ Unwanted groups can now removed from the available group list to
improve performance.
+ The program now eliminate the "Line too long" message when posting
followups with very long reference lines.
+ The program no longer unmarks previously loaded, but read messages
FTP * The program now works with 6 field directory listings used on some
ULTIRX server such as nyx.cs.du.edu.
* A possible program crash when displaying the buk download list has
been eliminated.
Program Problems?
=================
If you experience any problems with any of the applications, then we really
want to hear from you. Please drop us an e-mail message and we will do our best
to resolve your problem.
Common Problems
===============
1) Applications crash when attempting to start
If you installed this version and still have an older version on your system
either remove it or remove the old version's directory from the LIBPATH.
In general, make sure that there is only one copy of NEOLOGIC.DLL on
your system and it resides in the new installation's DLL directory.
2) Applications start but are not registered.
Copy the netsuite.cfg fle from your installation disk or previous version
into the base directory for the V4.5 release. Alternately, run the
Register program and reenter the codes manually.
3) FTPD crashes or reports a bad or missing FTPD.DLL
If you installed NNS V4.5 into a new directory but have a copy of NetSuite
V2.x still on your system, update the LIBPATH statement to remove the
reference to the previous version of FTPD.DLL and reboot.
4) News loads but does not update the subscriptions properly
Make sure that the username and password fields in the configuration
notebook are blank. If they contain information, remove this data and
restart News.
This information is used only for news servers which require a special
login process. Very few servers require this.
Upgrades
========
It is our policy to offer free upgrades from previous versions of NNS,
LA Times, and LA Gopher. If you have previously registered NNS, you
can re-enter your registration keys to enable the shareware version. You can
find these keys in the NETSUITE.CFG file of you old installation.
If you are a registered user of LA Times or LA Gopher please contact us to
arrange for some registration keys.
