LA Gopher
Version 1.10b
This ZIP file contains the release for LA Gopher, my newest
application. LA Gopher is a 32-bit multi-threaded Gopher Client for IBM
TCP/IP version 1.2.1 or later and OS/2 2.1 or later.
It is designed to replace that Gopher client from the IBM Employee Written
Software project, and offers many features that the IBM client does not
have, including speed.
Features
--------
- True drag-and-drop colors and fonts (try it out).
- User definable "viewers" for images, video, audio, etc.
- Bookmarks for commonly accessed information
- Ability to connect to multiple servers
- Ability to load several gopher pages simultaneously
- Optional archiving of gopher pages and documents for much faster
operation (especially across slower connections - like SLIP), and
much less network activity.
- Right mouse on gopher page entries to obtain Gopher+ information
- CSO Phone book support
Bugs Fixed from Previous Release
--------------------------------
- The program is now better at cleaning up files/directories if save
options are not selected.
- The program now correctly passes port numbers to telnet and tn3270
sessions
- Save filenames will no long contain spaces
- Veronica searches now work properly
- LA Gopher no longer asks for a save filename for any item which has
a specified viewer. You must now use the viewer to save theses files
Known Bugs
