  3. Welcome to HTMLview 1.0 !

  5. This document contains a quick description of HTMLview 1.0. For more 
  6. information please start HTMLview and view the online documentation
  7. in the Help menu (you may also press F1).

  15. 1. What is HTMLview 1.0
  16. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  17. HTMLview is a webbrowser/HTMLviewer for OS/2.
  18.  
  19. HTMLview is a faster way of viewing HTML and URL:s than WebExplorer. 
  20. It does most of the things that WebExplorer does and works both 
  21. on- and off-line. It has many features that WebExplorer has not. If you are 
  22. used to work with WebExplorer you will soon be used to work with HTMLview. 
  23. Most menu-item and keyboard shortcut are similar to those in WebExplorer.

  26. - Select a link when a page is loaded
  27. - Easy to use QuickList
  28. - Small (>100kb) and fast.

  30. We also offer custom made versions of HTMLview for customers that has a
  31. specific needs, for example feature limited, company specific versions.

  36. 2. Trial version limitations
  37. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  38. Before you register you will be using the trial version. You are allowed to
  39. run unregistered in 30 day. All use after that is illegal.

  43. The trial version has the following restrictions:
  44. - The QuickList cannot exceed five items.
  45. - The program will exit after running in 15 minutes.
  46. - When starting and exiting HTMLview a information screen appears.
  47.  
  48. You may however start HTMLview as many times as you like during
  49. the trial period of 30 days.

  51. NOTE:
  52. If a download is running it will be aborted if the 15 minute 
  53. time limit has been exceeded.

  58. 3. Installation program
  59. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60. The installation program is written for your convenience but is not required
  61. to install the product. You may copy the files to your harddisk manually if
  62. you wish. Only two files are required to run HTMLview.
  63.  
  64. - Copy the files (HTMLview.EXE, HTMLview.HTM) to a directory of your choice.
  65. - Create desktop icons with program references for HTMLview.EXE.
  66. - DO NOT drag the icons representing the executables from the file system (Drives window).
  67. - You may create several program references with different URL:s as parameters.
  68. - Many copies of HTMLview may run at the same time.

  71. If the installation program fails, please ensure that:

  73. - The installation directory is not in a non existing multilevel path.
  74. - The installation drive is not write protected.
  75. - You are running Workplace Shell.
  76. - The package HTMLVR10 is not tampered with.
