  5. This package contains the demo version of the GammaTech Internet Relay
  6. Chat software. This IRC client is a Presentation Manager application
  7. which brings a unique graphical user interface to the OS/2 IRC
  8. enthusiast. A few of the features of this software are shown below:

  10.    Presentation Manager GUI interface.
  11.    Script support via REXX.
  12.    Cut, Copy and Paste support.
  13.    Resizable windows with automatic text wrapping.
  14.    Automatically updated list of users on a channel.
  15.    Separate windows for each channel.
  16.    Separate windows for query sessions with other users.
  17.    Scroll back buffer for each output window.
  18.    Toolbar configurable with user specified commands.
  19.    Popup menues for ease of use.
  20.    Ability to add user defined items to popup menues.
  21.    Color coding of nick names, your nick name, etc.
  22.    Tab nick name completion.
  23.    Notification of incoming CTCP commands.
  24.    User definable lists of favorite channels and nicknames.
  25.    DCC Chat and Send support. DCC Get is automated.
  26.    Session logging and tracing support.
  27.    Beep while Away and away message logging support.
  28.    Session time display for each channel and query.
  29.    Internal protection from several forms of IRC harassments.
  30.    Complete documentation including an IRC primer.
  31.    Online help for all supported IRC commands.
  32.    Sound support.
  33.    And of course, much much more :-)

  37.    OS/2 Warp 4.0 -or- OS/2 Warp 3.0 + Internet Access
  38.    Connectivity to an Internet Service Provider.

  47. The demo version of the GammaTech Internet Relay Chat client is a full
  48. featured version of the commercial product. The following differences
  49. and restrictions apply:
  50.  
  51.    Full technical support is provided for the commercial product.
  52.    Electronic access for defects are made available for the
  53.    commercial product. No support is provided for the demo.
  54.  
  55.    The commercial product provides a installation program and a
  56.    registration form.
  57.  
  58.    This demo and the commercial product are not shareware. The demo is
  59.    intended to show the features of the product so you may make an
  60.    informed decision as to licensing the commercial product.
  61.  
  62.    This demo version permits unlimited use of all features of the
  63.    product except that setings may not be saved. The inabiliy to
  64.    save settings effectively disables some features of the product.

  66. To install the demo:
  67.  
  68.    1. Go to an OS/2 command line prompt.
  69.    2. Create a directory for the demo files.
  70.    3. Unzip the gtirc300.zip file into the new directory.
  71.    4. From the new directory, run the makeicon.cmd file.
  72.       It will ask you for the drive and path of the demo
  73.       directory and create a program object on your desktop
  74.       for the GammaTech Internet Relay Chat executable and
  75.       documentation.

  77. To execute the demo IRC program:

  79.    1. Establish a connection with your Internet Service Provider.
  80.    2. Double click on the GtIrc progam object icon.

  125. * The Server Dialog has been replaced with a Connect Dialog which
  126.   permits configuring servers by network and provides easier
  127.   configuring of server selection priorities.
